I went to a Tango Festival which was held at this hotel. Room was nice with a pool facing balcony. Staff were attentive to requests. Breakfasts offered nice fruit, bread, meats, cheeses, pastries, eggs and more. Laid back vibe with everything I needed. There are also some good restaurants on waterfront with a nice promenade! They were reasonably priced.
A wonderful stay in August with all my family to visit.. my new family! I got married locally in Nea Makri to my Greek husband from the area at the end of August, and around 25 of my friends and family (including myself the night before the wedding!) stayed at the marathon beach resort, and we all had a fantastic time. The rooms are modern and spacious, beds are super comfortable as is the sofa bed in the bigger rooms. We enjoyed a nice bbq in the afternoon on the Sunday and wonderful food (and drinks!) from the pool bar throughout the rest of the stay. The hotel is close to lots of restaurants in Nea Makri as well as across the road from the beach. The staff are lovely, particularly Lisa at reception - she is an absolute delight, very knowledgable about the local area and hotel itself. All my friends and family will be staying here when they come over to visit again.. highly recommend! …
Staff very friendly and helpful, rooms well leaves a lot to be desired..... the first shock was the flooring OMG looked like an army of soldiers had been running through the property, the floor just looked filthy even after maids had cleaned it and the fact that it was a stoney floor which hurt your feet.... you need to take slippers. There was not really a wardrobe it was an open space to hang clothes. Beds and pillows were not comfortable had to go and buy my own pillow just so I could get some sleep. Pool was amazing the only good thing going for it and the beach across the road. Never any towels for you around the pool and they say they offer them, had to take out of room. Very expensive to drink there at hotel. Breakfast was ok that’s if you got there before the Germans only one choice of milk (full fat) would have liked a nice fried egg but NO always scrambled eggs. There was no coffee/Tea making facilities in room which would have been a nice touch even water every day put in fridge. There are immigrants right next door which is fine but right next door to a hotel surely not good for business, they were very annoying first thing in morning playing football outside and the evening. Overall the hotel could really do with an up lift especially the flooring maybe some nice tiles and a few rugs just to make it look welcoming. Would I go back .... maybe not unless changes were made. Photographs on websites are very deceiving …
this is a gem of a hotel, the staff are so friendly and kind and the lovely pool area is salt water with turtles wandering around and sometimes mating!!! we were attending a tango marathon and we were looked after very well, lazing on the huge double beds by the pool, we were kept hydrated with regular water deliveries. The hot tub has nice jets but isn't hot!!!! bedrooms comfy and clean with a nice balcony and good air-conditioning (the floor is a bit uncomfortable to walk on - could use some rugs) the shower was difficult to operate but others had no problem we were collected from the airport and returned (complimentary if you stay a week) breakfast was very plentiful and there was soya / coconut milk and gluten free bred was fabulous - hot food was eggs and some pastry and bacon/sausage.. lots of fresh fruit and some wonderful bottled cherries very close to the beach and plenty of places to eat nearby there is a comfortable bus that takes you to Athens and a market on Thursday morning and bikes to hire (6 euro for half a day) Ferries to various Islands are close by (around 15 minutes away) Reception very helpful to organise this, but the taxi was late (after being too early) so double check times and understanding Lovely leg and foot massage from a very charming young lady …
We stayed here in August with some of our friends and family who joined us to attend a wedding. It was a fabulous place for us all to stay. The rooms we all had were nice and clean and were made up every day, if you requested them to do so by pressing the light outside your room. Top tip....ask for a quiet room! Nearly all rooms are quiet, but there are a handful of rooms that stretch over a local bar that opens till about 3am. The rooms were air conditioned and the beds were comfy. There was a fridge, complimentary bottled water, small safe and hairdryer, in all rooms. The reception staff were all incredibly helpful and spoke perfectly in English and French as well as Greek obviously. They arranged local tours and also the airport transfers for everyone. I needed to borrow an iron for wedding outfits and they had one I was able to use. You can also borrow towels for use by the pool from Reception. The pool is very clean as are the grounds around the whole resort. Bar staff work very hard to ensure you are well looked after with drinks and snacks, including complimentary water. Breakfast was in a room beside the pool. There was a good selection of cereals, yogurt, melon, bread and cake. There was also a small selection of basic warm breakfast food, but nothing very elaborate. There are plenty of restaurants and bars a short walk away. There is also a small supermarket 5 minutes walk away.…
