The whole experience is an adventure and planning is essential. Arrived at hotel and was impressed with the room, but as we spend time there the service started to turn into a desception and frustrating, ordered food and only half the menu was available, got served and it was awful, on every meal for three days, ordered a fish filet... Our guide book raved about the hotel and recommended booking far in advance. It may be that certain times of year are busier, but we were the only guests during our 3 day stay. The biggest challenge is getting to La Union, El Salvador, to take a boat to Isla Meanguera. None of the tourist shuttles operate there. Local bus... More

We were a group of 8 people staying through Semana Santa (Easter) 2015. Every member of the staff was 100% for the customer specially Fredy and Sergio which are also the ones that can take you fishing. The service is impressive and they will really do all they can in order to let you have a great time. The rooms... More

We were three English tourists traveling through Central America and happened to stumble upon this hotel, amazing place to spend a few days. The manager of the business, Isac, makes the place what it is. Let alone his cooking, which was great, he was generous enough to let us go out kayaking and fishing each day using all his kit.... This place is marvelous. To get back and forth from La Union it can be painful. For example the boats only leave once a day and to return is also early in the morning. But you can always hire someone to take. But once you are there, the experience is just unforgettable. It is a family run business which is... More

We pulled into the bay in our sailboat and anchored right off the hotel. We headed for the hotel in our dingy and were greeted with enthusiasm. We had planned to anchor there for a night, but ended up staying there almost two weeks - inviting friends on another boat to join us. Isaac's food is wonderful. He made us... More

My third trip in 3 years to this hotel and, as usual, it exceeded my expectations. Isaac, the manager, and his friendly staff provide excellent service and the food is wonderful. Isaac can even whip up some very fine sushi for you if you like sushi. His sushi is the best I've ever had (but I haven't been to Japan... More

My wife and I were looking for off the track places as we aren't surfers but love the ocean. I was over the moon when my wife described the activities as fishing, swimming, kayaking, fishing, hiking and fishing. The hotel itself is perched on the waterfront which allows for stunning sunrises and has access to Oyster beds so you can... More

I stumbled upon this hotel in of all places, the Rough Guide of 2011 - they recommended it as a "special treat." Many people will by pass this part of the country, because it is difficult to get to. However, it is worth the effort. We took a "directivo" bus from San Salvador's Terminale Oriente to La Union (4 hours);... More

I make it a goal of mine to sniff out the really unique places to stay. The hidden beaches, the treehouses, etc. And this, this place beats them all. The short story is that the family that operates this little hotel go above and beyond. The food was all amazing, the best we had on our 2 week trip in... More
