Many people "do" the Quilotoa loop by hiking from one town to the next, but when our friend recommended we consider staying at Black Sheep Inn and doing day hikes instead we decided to check it out. In our minds, we made the right choice. We spent four nights in the dorm, which is an A-frame with three floors (10...

This is one of those times I wish TripAdvisor had "Good" rating -- something between "Very Good" and "Average" as neither of these standard ratings reflect my experience. Before you book here, be sure you understand what this place is. Despite its price it's not a high end, fancy resort. It's a very down-to-earth, rustic, nature-conscious place that provides a...

We loved Black Sheep Inn! We stayed 2 nights and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys the outdoors and cares about the environment. Edmundo was super helpful in all facets of the stay, from booking and great directions to the Inn to activity suggestions and even helped us deal with a business phone call when our phone service did...

I stayed at BSI for five days in January 2017 and really enjoyed it. Horseback riding, massage, sauna, yoga, hiking, day trip to Quilotoa. Wonderful dinners with interesting people, all in a gorgeous setting

This is basically a lodge for backpackers. It is just a notch above a mountain hut. Facilities are extremely basic. Food is also very basic - not at all the "gourmet vegetarian" advertised in their webpages. If you are a backpacker and are looking for a bed in a common room, this place may be acceptable. However, if you are...

We absolutely loved the Black Sheep Inn. Originally we were gonna stay for one night, ended up staying for two, just because we didn't want to leave. Lovely staff, delicious healthy meals, beautiful views. If you're thinking of going with the shared bathrooms, I encourage it, they are beautiful outdoor Eco bathrooms with the best view from the toilet I've...

This was my second visit to the Black Sheep Inn. I had to go back after my first visit. The staff is extremely accommodating and nice. They provided us with sacked lunches everyday to take on our hikes. There provided detailed photo guides so you don't have to pay for a guide. It is comfortable along with warm showers, wifi,...

Beautiful setting, terrific options for adventure or relaxation, spotless, delicious food, great staff and lovely accommodations! Frisbee Golf was a workout and offered great views and interaction with llamas and alpacas! Walk to town was great and Laguna Quilatoa was magical!

We wrote Black Sheep Inn an hour before arriving and got an email right back. We were equally as welcomed when our taxi arrived at the door. All the guests were already eating dinner, family style, and we were promptly set up ourselves. Armondo greeted us and asked if we'd like to do an activity the next day so he...

Just spent 5 nights at BSI and the entire experience was soul fulfilling. The folks at BSI (Edmundo, Alfredo & the rest of the staff) are the most warm and caring people I have met. They took excellent care in making sure the stay was comfortable, arranged for guides and drivers for the different hikes I wanted to take, and...
