I had a cracking dinner a couple of weeks ago, the hotel was busy with the Spine Race being on. We were seated quickly and I ordered my favourite, Lamb. I was served on an onion mash, the best mushrooms and tomatoes ever, nice chunky chips, and the lamb was amazing! I enjoyed it so much, and can't wait to...

We would like to thank all at the Border Hotel for last night's amazing dining experience. The food has always been of the highest standard at the Border but last night's 7 Courses took it up to a new level. It was as close as you'll get to "fine dining" in what is essentially a family run country hotel. Could...

Can't wait till next hogmanay so we can get fed like this again!!!! Words cannot do justice to the culinary masterpiece that was presented to us, course after course of pure perfection on a plate!then after dinner we sat in the bar beside an open fire, listening to live music. Couldn't think of a better place to bring in the...

Room was too small (Teviot) and the walls paper-thin. You could hear everything in the room next door which did not help when hearing loud snoring, etc. Also the window backed onto a corridor with only a skylight so there was no fresh air. I could hear footsteps up and down the corridor which did not help the room to...

Dog friendly hotel. Very helpful and friendly staff. Superb food. Chef''s curry magnificent. Our room a bit on the small side for 2 adults and a dog. Would have opted for the larger rooms if available.

After 18 days of hard walking this was a lovely hotel to stay. We srayed in the Pennine room which had lots of space. The food was delicious and it was a perfect end to The Pennine Way but please change the hairdryer 😆

An absolute gem of a place hidden away in a small village close the English border - hence the name. Rooms were cozy, clean and very comfortable. Dinner was absolutely superb. Understand why a table booking is mandatory at the weekend. The lamb is excellent! Very friendly young staff and obviously a talented chef. Definitely warrants a return visit soon....

We were met with a smile and friendly banter by the barman who made you feel welcome who recommended a good ale to try. The food in the restaurant was excellent. It was tasty and again served by a friendly smiling member of staff. I will definitely be returning.

Five walkers on the St Cuthbert's Way had a Sunday evening meal here in September. A number of us had the Sunday roast (beef), whilst others had an assortment of dishes off the main menu. All the food was very good, including the sweets and cheeses. Excellent service and good value for money, highly recommended.
