We stayed two nights at Villa Kuljis while touring Croatia on bicycle. It was a wonderful stay in a charming town. The only difficulty we had was finding the door to the apartment. The apartment was within 50 ft of its Google-maps location marker. In that general vicinity there are at least a half dozen doorways. There is a small sign visible from the main road [if one knows where to look] that hangs near a door to the breakfast room. That nearby door is locked at other times. One needs to enter at a door identified by #4. Unfortunately our directions, copied from the Kuljis website, said the address was #3A. We resorted to calling the phone number listed on the website. There was no answer; it seems that the apartment manager was out for a swim.

The apartment manager – Mrs Kuljis we believe – is resident on the top floor of the building. Mrs Kuljis made us a fine breakfast each morning and engaged us in enlightening conversation. She apologizes for her English which is certainly good enough. We appreciated her enthusiasm in engaging with us.

The apartment location is right at the base of the town pier, convenient to anything in Komizia. It is a classic older building which contributed to the overall charm. The interior is nicely remodeled. Pictures on Google and the Kuljis website are accurate. The bathroom was exceptionally well updated. We had a large room nicely decorated with pictures and lace and which included a small kitchen. We had a nice balcony but limited view [just a thin sliver of ocean]. Sleeping arrangements were a pair of twin beds. There was excellent cross ventilation and the streets were quiet so it was easy to get a good night’s sleep. The internet worked very well.

This place is definitely in the basic category like a lot of accommodation in Croatia, but of all the places we stayed it was also a favourite. The owner left us to it, the room was very clean, the ben comfortable and the view from the window was amazing. Comisa is a basic destination and this place was so cheap yet lovely it really made Comisa be our favourite place to stay.

If you are looking for luxury, added touches etc this is not for you, but if you want a good quality bed for the night with a view of the sea and a nice clean bathroom in the morning then you can not go wrong.

Stayed at Villa Kuljis for 2 nights during peak season in August. The location is amazing - right on the main promenade in a renovated stone house. We reserved a room without a kitchenette as we knew we would be eating out during our short stay. It was clean, nicely renovated with a private bathroom and a sea view. Very romantic.
Parking anywhere is Komiza is a pain, but Zarka was very helpful, advising us where to leave our car up the road. She also gave us great recommendations for sightseeing and restaurants. I would definitely stay here again!

I decided to take a couple days to myself in Komiza, Vis and found that Vila Kuljis was available in November 2015. I loved all the little details in my room and had a partial view of the sea, which was quite charming, to feel like I was living in the stone village as it was hundreds of years ago and could take a little peek out to see a fisherman going out for the night or see the sun's last rays coming through my lovely curtains. Clean, simple, with a kitchenette, wifi, etc. Couldn't have asked for more.

Loved our stay in Kuljis.. the gentleman was very kind and hospitable. We loved it so much, we extended our stay for 4 nights and I still didn't want to leave. The rooms are beautiful and clean, great bathrooms with pristine sheets and towels. Wifi, fridge, little sink and kitchen ...they've thought of everything... we stayed in the room with a sea view, and it was perfect for us...felt like a second honeymoon. It's a two minute walk from the restaurants and bars so the location is what I would call ideal.

Stay here if you are in Vis. The town of Komiza is a sweet little fishing port and so much better than all the other places we visited in all of Croatia... I would happily go back and stay for weeks!

We stayed for 6 nights. The apartment was really charming, romantic and stylish. The nearest beach is 100 m away, and the restaurants, bars, and the bakery are close too.
The host are really nice and helpful.
Our apartment was really amazing: the view to the sea, the bathroom, the bed. My favorite thing was the bed sheets: 100 % cotton, light, soft, and romantic.

We have been to Croatia twice now, and on the first trip we stayed here, and on the second we came back. We liked it that much!

It is really a nice comfortable room, with restaurants near by for breakfast, dinner and tea and a beach just by the side of the way. There is no point in saying it is luxury or amazing service, it is a no-nonsense stay.

If you want a great, comfortable room then this is for you - if you want a nice luxury stay then maybe not.

Got to Komiza, and after walking around for quite a while, happened across the building. We stayed in the one on Obala Pape Aleksandra III. 4, 21485, Komiza, Croatia. (If you are booking, make sure to get directions from the bus stop - if you take the bus from Vis). The room was up three flights of stairs, but that meant that we had the top floor to ourselves. Sweet, quaint place. Not very grand, but very, very clean. We loved our terrace and the location was good. The only downside, and I honestly couldn't tell you where this happened....I lost $100 Euros in Komiza. I could have been pick pocketed, the money may have disappeared from our room. There was no safe there. I would like to think that someone slid it out of a pocket (we were travelling around Europe, so had different currencies on us). Anyway. Not pointing fingers but again, no safe way of storing valuables in the room. .
Would definitely stay here again.

As mentioned by another traveller, the sea view advertised was limited, in fact I found the room claustrophobic. The bathroom light did not work when I arrived late one evening and the owner did not bother to fix it so I had to go to bed without a shower feeling hot after a long journey to get there. She then refused to change the sheets in the morning expecting me to sleep in dirty bedding for the next 4 nights. Then she just took the money for just one night and gave me back the rest, effectively throwing me out! Luckily I found a far better room with a proper sea view, the friendliest hosts ever and could not have been happier. But as you can see other people had a great time there. It was decorated to a high standard with great shower and crispy white sheets but a proper sea view is more important for me.

People please note there are two Kuljis properties on island Vis and a lot of you are reviewing the wrong one. Anyways to get back to reviewing.

The owners are awesome!!!! Zarka took care of us like we were her family, cooked for us even showed us around. Everything was always sparkling clean. I have stayed in many 5 stars resorts around the world, and these apartments have top quality service. I so highly recommend it that I really don't know what else to add. They picked us up from the ferry and took us back. Gave us great advices on food and places to go to, I just can not speak highly enough about how great our stay was! That was our second time there and definatley coming back nect year! Ivan and Zarka you are superstars!
