On a recent business trip to Frankfurt, I had a rare and wonderful opportunity to stay at the Schlosshotel Kronberg, which is 20 minutes outside of Frankfurt with a convenient Train ride on the S Bahn (#4). This stunning and historical property is the epitome of elegance, comfort and refinement with its old world charm, high end decor and amenities...

It far exceeded my expectations. I was only there for a night on business but it made me wish I could have been in town longer....much longer. The location was beautiful and filled with history. I loved everything about it; from the moment I crossed the gate to the moment I entered my room. The staff was wonderful and beyond...

From the moment you enter the grounds, this hotel is impressive. Built in a bygone royal era, the splendour is supported by friendly, helpful staff. A huge fireplace ensures a cosy atmosphere in the hall which is a great place to warm up after a walk through the gardens. Rooms are individual but perhaps the one area that could do...

Very Special Place to Stay for a Special Occasion! The Castle is just incredible as well as the location (basically in a forest)! We had a really great stay! I made the mistake of not making dinner reservations before coming, they were book but still accommodated us for the evening, we got our own dining room...truly amazing! Would recommend staying...

This is the second time that we have been fortunate enough to stay at this wonderful castle. When we arrived we were greeted by Niasi who remembered us and made us immediately feel very welcome. At the front desk we were greeted by Sascha who also remembered us from our last visit. We cannot speak highly enough of the service...

Stayed for 2 nights on a break to Germany. What a fabulous hotel; room, staff and food. We were upgraded to a suite on arrival and really enjoyed our stay. The decor was just what you expect in an old building from the 1800's. Only two small criticisms, the shower head was faulty and was not repaired when asked. Additionally...

Visiting here for a special occassion, the staff were very helpful in organising some surprises for my partner. The room was incredibly comfortable and had a stunning bathroom. The bed, was large and super comfortable. In addition, just wandering around this historic location was an experience in itself.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Schlosshotel Kronberg is located above the picturesque small Taunus town of Kronberg in the middle of an impressive park with 58 h next to a 18-hole golf course. As a hotel nearby Frankfurt this beautiful property is loved in equal measure by businessmen, golfers, gourmets, people who appreciate art and traditional values. Also for weddings and bridal pairs it is the perfect place to be. The Schlosshotel Kronberg, also a Golf resort and castle hotel, is owned by the Landgrave and Princes von Hessen and has since 1954 been a luxury hotel of the first order. Built under commission from Empress Victoria Friedrich and completed in 1893, Schloss Friedrichshof is today one of the most impressive German castles and offers its guests living history to touch and feel. Exclusive furnishings and an impressive collection of antiques and paintings from the private estate of the mother of the last Kaiser convey the authentic ambience of a castle from imperial times. To make your stay even more memorable and comfortable, we have considerably renewed Schlosshotel Kronberg over the last 2 years. For creation and design, the well-known British Interior designer Nina Campbell were appointed, who combines vintage furniture with own designs realising a perfect room and space concept. The newly-created rooms, all equipped with air conditions, decorated in warm colors and with delicate fabrics and floors and immersed in special lighting welcome the guests in a very cordial way. Enjoy the unique historic ambiance and indulge in the luxurious setting of Schlosshotel Kronberg. Our particularly personal service spoils you after an eventful day either in the lobby in front of the fireplace or on the castle terrace on mild summer evenings. Due to the perfect connection to Frankfurt, the fair and the international airport, our hotel is also a very convenient solution for business travelers who benefit from free amenities such as wireless Internet, minibar/bar fridge, shoe polish service, fresh fruit and mineral water in room and daily newspaper. ... more   less
