The Casa do Mudo was built more than 100 years ago by the grandfather of the current owner, Ana; he was a deaf mute, a “mudo” in Spanish, and now the beautifully restored farmhouse is named after him. Ana is a remarkable hostess, kind and welcoming, and a cook of exceptional talent – a talent she exercises in a glass-walled...

A very beautiful place to stay. Lots of outside and inside communal space, tasteful and spacious. The husband was particularly taken by the "extensive use of copper, even to encase internal wiring" - I think that's what he said anyway! I was too busy relaxing on a lovely sun lounger with a beer to listen properly! The hosts offered a...

The second stop on our Galician tour and it was excellent. We had a little trouble finding the hotel which I would put down to mi amigo juans map reading and the fact that the hotel sign was almost totally obscured by grass. Ana gave us a most friendly greeting and we had tea and beers on the patio. The...

We have just enjoyed the best stay in Casa do Mudo than I think we have ever had. From the time we arrived we were welcomed and treated with lovely friendliness. We had a very nice dinner when we arrived. So good we had one next night. Which worked out for me 11.30 pm due to a car problem. Anna...

The food is...

We are a family of 4 who stayed at Casa do Mudo for 4 nights in August 2015. The building is an old granite-walled farmhouse that has been beautifully restored and is kept spotlessly clean. Our room comprised two areas that were partially separated from each other, an ideal arrangement when you have kids. There are dining areas both inside...

Stayed 4 days in June 2015. A wonderful quiet rural location in the hills behind Cervo. 5 minute drive from main road therefore easy access to many tourist sites. Follow Anna's route details turning right at Civic Centre to avoid Google's challenging choice of roads. Covered car parking facilities. The room was huge with separate lounge overlooking countryside. All facilities...

We arrived on a cold, rainy evening, after a long drive through wind and hail-- it was absolute heaven to walk into the house and find cosy rooms with log fires crackling and comfortable chairs to sit and relax. We were the only guests, it being out of season, but the living area had obviously been lovingly prepared for our...

We found this place by accident during a trip to Galicia. Ana, the hostess, welcomed us and prepared us a terrific fish meal. The breakfast is rich and offers lots of home made products. The property is very cosy and has this genuine and rustic touch one would expect in this lovely area. Everything is well taken care of and...
