This hotel is in Santa Cruz - a little town very close to La Coruna. It is right on the beach with a view out across the bay of Coruna. It is set inside its own small bay which has a small island in the centre where a 16th Century fort is, which you can walk across to and look around for free.

The hotel itself is very nice inside. The pool which looks out over the beach is fantastic. The breakfast was lovely - a wide range for a Continental breakfast. The hotel staff were helpful and polite and the rooms spacious and clean.

Basically this is a hotel which represents good value for money for those who want easy access to a beach and pool. There is also a good selection of bars and restaurants in Santa Cruz, as well as Coruna costing next to nothing to reach by taxi. In Coruna the night life never stops (especially in the bars around the port) and so you can certainly burn off any energy you've built up by lazing around on te beach.

My Mum and Dad used to live in Santa Cruz and we came back to visit for 5 days. 86 year old gran to youngest of 8. Fabulous family holiday. The most friendly service possible from all the staff. Emotional to say good by and we drove to Bruno's village Caion on the coast to visit as he had made such an impression on us. Get a sea view room and have an awesome experience. Walk down the front to Preludio for the best sea food and Albarinho at fabulous prices. We will go back next year.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at this hotel. The view out to the bay complete with island and castle was amazing. Our room was large and we enjoyed a delicious breakfast and dinner as part of our stay. Special compliments to our wonderful waiter at both meals. It was a perfect place to wind down after a day of driving.

Terrible hotel

I stayed in a suite. It’s in a state of disrepair. Cupboard doors that don’t close properly, wallpaper that’s peeling away, cracks in the bathroom.

There is NOTHING on offer in the room. Not even a bottle of water. A four star hotel that doesn’t even offer you water!

The views are not what they promise to be. There are old dusty curtains. Patio doors which don’t remain open.

The terrace is filthy. It hasn’t been cleaned for a long time with encrusted bird poo all over it.

I booked on the hotel’s own website and the customer service was rude and awkward.

Avoid this hotel at all costs. Don’t waste your money.

We stayed in a 'Classic Suite' for one night in September.

The hotel has great views but they and the hotel are let down by unhelpful and miserable staff and very poor service.

We arrived at the hotel around 5.30pm after a pretty horrendous drive up from Portugal in atrocious weather due to Tropical Storm Henri. We were tired and hungry as we decided not to stop on the way to the hotel due to the poor weather. All we wanted to do was have room service and chill out in our room, whilst enjoying the views.

On the information card given to us at check-in it stated room service was available all day until 10.30pm. We couldn't find a menu in our room so phoned reception. However there was no answer. My husband decided to go down to reception to ask for a menu but was told by the receptionist that he didn't know what was on the menu, subsequently the receptionist phoned the kitchen and asked the chef what was on the menu, only for him not to know either and to call back in 10 minutes!!!!! Seriously how can the chef not know what's on the menu and why isn't there a standard room service menu? We were then told we couldn't have room service until 8.30pm??? What's all that about? My husband was bemused by this and ended up going over to the local supermarket where he ended up by bread, butter and meat to make sandwiches.

We wanted a hot meal so did order room service after 8.30, there is no standard room service menu, you basically get what is being served in the restaurant. The choice was limited and the food pretty bland and basic. I can't recall all the choices but we had Parma ham on half toasted bread (there was a fish choice) for starters. The main we chose was tuna and potatoes, this was 2 tuna small tuna steaks, not cooked well. With boiled potatoes, garnished with cress and an onion relish dumped on top of the tuna (the other choice was pork). Dessert was a chocolate brownie and strawberry ice cream. The food certainly isn't of 4 star standard. Mediocre at best.

The room had a great terrace which overlooked the beach and La Coruna in the distance. I wouldn't class the room as a suite, it's just a large room with a seating area. The furniture is a bit dated and dark and the bed uncomfortable. The bathroom, whilst spacious had the most hideous and uncomfortable toilet and matching bidet. The toilet seat was also broken. The worse thing though was the yellow safety lights above the door leading into and out of the bathroom. They were that bright that we didn't need to use the lights to navigate to the bathroom during the night. We felt like children with a nightlight left on. Strangely there was no safety light above the door to the room?

Also the noise from doors banging and other guests movements can be clearly heard from within the room.

Overall the service received and the standard of the room, in our opinion didn't relate to a 4 star hotel. The hotel looks the part from outside with the fountains and water features but that's where it ends. The views save this hotel, without them most people would choose to stay elsewhere. The hotel is all show but no substance.

Would we stay here again? We'd like to, mainly to enjoy the views and terrace in nicer weather but the service is putting us off and the food would have to greatly improve before I'd chance sampling what they put on offer.

On checking out the receptionist didn't ask if our stay was ok or anything, we just paid and left.

We were skeptical of this hotel because it was so affordable for the area, but we were impressed. The views from the room were great, but were even better enjoyed on the fabulous terrace with gintonics. The hotel's in a great location for the beach, island and restaurants, and is in a much more peaceful location than others in A Coruña. WiFi worked well, and breakfast was decent. If I were in the area, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

We were booked into this hotel by some friends who live in nearby A Coruna and they wanted us to enjoy the great views. And they certainly were, from the room and the restaurant where we had a very acceptable breakfast. The reception staff were friendly and spoke pretty good English. There were some bars, restaurants and small shops in the village of Oleiros which is a suburb of A Coruna and some scenic walks to the nearby castle and around the coast. The room was clean and modern with excellent free wifi. No English speaking channels on the tv though. Great value too.

We were really looking forward to our stay here, but when we arrived we could immediately see signs of construction. The staff were unfriendly and aloof, the lobby was littered with dirty dishes and ashtrays. The room and bathroom were nice, and very large but there was construction underway directly under our window, which started at 8am.

We were due to stay 5 nights but quickly decided to leave the next day, The hotel has no terrace or outside space, which is a real shame as the hotel setting and views are lovely. Where there should be a terrace there is a shabby looking covered in function room.

The room was very noisy, the air conditioning didn't work, the socket kept spitting out the plugs, there was hair in the bath and the shower wouldn't turn off.

We felt that this hotel was a real discovery. First, the location is amazing. It is not in A Coruna itself but 15 minutes outside in a bay and part of a small village. What amazed us was the castle right across from the hotel on a small island on the bay. While it was not open inside, we could easily explore the island and walk all the way around it. Access to a boardwalk is right beside the hotel and winds all the way around the bay. Well lit for an evening stroll as well.

The hotel was recently refurbished inside and so everything is like new. The views from the rooms facing the ocean were incredible especially with the floor to ceiling windows.
The rooms were not overly big but comfortably furnished. Bathrooms are large and well appointed. There are hardwood floors in the rooms and in the halls - which did mean noise did travel through the hotel but once inside the room, it was quiet. As we have 4 children and dog, we had to get a second room which was half price. Their room had 3 beds and ours had a queen size and a single. The second room was half price and the pet was an additional 10 Euros a night.

The staff spoke excellent english and were very helpful. We had a problem with the in room internet and tv which they came up and helped us with. There were 2 computers in the lobby with free internet access - which my kids really appreciated.

We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and as it was day before new years, the hotel was empty and so we were alone. There was a set menu of either fish or a pork dish and we ended up having both between us all. The food was excellent. That was 12 Euros a person. We had the breakfast buffet at 7 Euros per adult, 4.5 Euros per child.

Parking was right in front of the hotel and free. We will definitely go back to this hotel again.

Better than expected. Modern building. My room on the third floor ( recommended ) with a terrace overlooking the La Coruna bay was large, clean and with all the equipment's in good state. Free parking with plenty of space for the guests. The personal was very friendly and eager to help if asked. We opted for the dinner in the hotel on the evenings we stayed in the hotel and didn't regret. The breakfast is ok but not on the level of a 4* hotel. Same every morning and not with plenty of choices.
