I visit a lot of Spanish cities and usually go for the cheapest with good reviews as I'm always out and only need somewhere decent to sleep. On arrival very clean foyer, reception staff friendly/efficient, a narrow and dark staircase up to rooms but on getting to floor the lights come on and a nicely decorated hallway leads me to my room. It's a small but adequate room, very clean, nicely decorated, good bedding / mattress, all TV channels Espanol but hey ho, bathroom is spotless and modern, has ample toiletries/towels and most importantly the shower with 2 heads has great pressure. Standard view of the street below (the Al1cante craft brewery next door is a must for any real ale / beer lovers), the large indoor Central Market is 1 minute away and numerous bars/restsurants, bus/tram stops within 2 mins. No noise at night, No negatives - I will now always book here on any future Alicante trips, and for just under £20 a night (January 22) it's perfect 👍🏼

Fantastic hotel with little cafe/restaurant on the ground floor where we had included breakfast. Very close to everything you could want in Alicante city centre. The tram stop is MERCADO and is less than 5 minutes walk, there is a bus stop for the C6 bus to the airport just 50m down from the tram station. The hotel is beautifully clean but we too noticed a horrible drains smell from the bathroom. We stayed 1 night either side of our Christmas in Benidorm for ease of traveling and our first room 405 was close by somewhere that uses a washing machine 24 hours a day which made sleep difficult but our 2nd room 410 was much better. Also, 405 has a small section of the main room converted to the sink and a glass door shower so neither my mum nor I fancied taking a shower in full view of each other. 410 had a sliding door to the bathroom which was much better. We also booked a double bed (no twin rooms available) and requested a twin in the notes, we had to share a double bed both stays!
Location and price is excellent though!

We have stayed for one night, great budget hotel, although the room was small as per comments, we found it to be modern, clean and comfortable. The room was behind the lift which had me worried but turned out to be quiet enough. The room was quite warm but air con worked well. The bathroom although also small, was very modern. The only minor minus point was that had no soap, shower gel or shampoo. The typical spanish breakfast (half baguette with olive oil and tomatoes, coffee and orange juice) is well priced at €3.50. Would highly recommend it based on location/quality/price ratio. We found the staff at the reception friendly and helpful but we do speak Spanish so can't comment on their English language level.

The hostel may be rated 2-stars, but the staff is definitely 5 stars! The room was nice and cleaned every day, with new towels provided. No problems regarding noise, though they provided a sleeping mask and earplugs. AC was working properly, and the bathroom looked like new. The location is especially great if you don’t rent a car while you visit Alicante. It’s within walking distance from all the important stuff.

Me and my Girlfriend stayed for 6 nights and couldn't be happier. It was clean and very modern. They offered parking for €12 a day at a nice secure 24 hour car park about a 10min walk away which was great and everything in Alicante was in walking distance; the beach, restaurants, shops and the old town. Really friendly staff and the room facilities were modern and great, no issues and would definitely recommend.

Hotel was fine overall - very budget style which was not really reflected in the price we paid.

The receptionist spoke only Spanish but was friendly enough.

The breakfast was disappointing and would not recommend paying extra for it. Perhaps our own fault for expecting a buffet style (booking.com perhaps was not particularly clear on this) rather than a bit of bread and jam.

The hotel rooms were odd in layout (with a shower plonked in the middle of the room) but clean enough.

Thin walls so noises from other rooms were loud, and the hotel is right next to a club which opens at 1am and closes at 7am - very noisy! In fairness, guests are provided with earplugs and an eye mask.

The corridors were dirty and smelly - there was a condom wrapper in the stairwell which was not removed until the last day of my stay.

Location was good in a sense that it was close to tram and bus stops however it was on an awful street which was very dirty and smelly!

Wouldn’t recommend and won’t be staying again myself.

Pros: the room was very clean and simplistic. The location is amazing, right next to the central market, and the check-in/check out process was painless. Aircon/heating works perfectly.

Cons: The housekeeping staff was very loud outside my room before lunchtime, chatting to each other, laughing, and slamming doors. I didn't get enough sleep as a result. I would have appreciated it if the staff respected that not all guests woke up early and kept the noise to a minimum.

There was no drinking water in the room, so bring your own bottles. Plus, the hotel sends a few too many emails/messages, which can become a little tiresome.

Booked this hotel/hostal through a third party site, about 10 days in advance, for one night, before getting to airport in morning . I got a twin bedded room for single occupancy for less than €70, which was the taxi fare from my holiday accommodation further south and I was very happy. Easy to confirm online, and check in was quick and efficient. The room was just fine. The private bathroom was lovely, clean and new. The shower (both heads) were great and there was complimentary toiletries. Also a hairdryer. Also complimentary ear plugs and eye mask! So thoughtful 😀 Bed was comfy, room had A/C and light duvet available on the shelf above wardrobe. There was a very informative welcome pack, with an interesting Adult Only additional flyer. I'm not going to give that secret away on here!
I found the location was great, behind the Central Market (which I visited on a previous stay in Alicante). The bus stops were within 5 mins walk with a suitcase... And the C6 airport bus was already loading its passengers when I walked around the corner...

Brilliant

La Lonja Hotel is in a central location in the city with easy access to restaurants, bars and cafes. The room was spotless with great air-con and at a very reasonable price. Perfect for those who want to explore the beautiful city of Alicante and we would definitely stay again.

This really is not a hotel I'd recommend for anyone other than adults due to the nature of the content of the advertising of sex aids and the content of the vending machines. Unless of course you have a very broad mind...! I'd never stay there again or recommend it.

My room did not have a safe in it that I remember, though the locks on the three inch doors were pretty hardcore. I had to swipe my card to unlock the mechanism so that I could close it after I opened it. Never had that experience before or since.
