Fabulous little gem of an oasis, location is great on the better of the Alicante beaches, lovely private pool but close enough to pop in to Alicante for food or shopping.
Breakfast was good, service was refined and professional, thanks to Ana on reception for looking after us with warmth and a smile.

Nice sized hotel (about 70 rooms) with a beautiful pool and garden area and just off the fantastic San Juan beach. There are a few restaurants, a wine bar, a chemist and a supermarket within 5 minutes walk of the hotel, but it is a place you should go for relaxing rather than an action packed holiday. However, Alicante town is easily accessible by tram, the station is only 5 minutes walk away, it's cheap and you simply buy a ticket on the tram. Alicante, by the way, is a wonderful city. Beautiful buildings, shady squares, plenty of eating and drinking opportunities, good shopping and nice harbour area. Similar to Barcelona, just smaller.
The hotel itself is a three star but, as an earlier reviewer mentions, I've stayed at worse 4 star hotels. We had a standard double room which came with a comfortable bed, large bathroom, huge balcony with a beautiful view over the pool and gardens. We could only find Spanish and French channels on our TV, but the free WiFi means you can watch stuff in your local language if you really need to.
Breakfast was very good, there is a great bar and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Our only issue was that the pool area doesn't open until 10.30 which seemed a little strange. You can linger over breakfast, go for a walk on the beach or sit in the gardens, however, so it's not really a problem. Plenty of sun loungers by the pool and a small pool bar which serves a limited selection of drinks and snacks.
I have visited Spain several times but never Alicante and was very impressed. We will definitely be back and, if you are looking for a relaxing getaway or even a longer break, I can recommend the Almirante.

This was is our first time in Alicante and we will definitely come back to the Almirante. The hotel is comfortable and not too big. It has a lovely pool area but is also right by the San Juan beach. We decided not to hire a car (even though there is tree parking) so used the public transport. The Costa Blanca tram is a 5min walk from the front door of the hotel which is really handy. If you get a 'mobilis' travel card your trips work out even cheaper than normal.
The room was clean and spacious with a lovely pool facing balcony (nice to relax in after a day out) and we opted for a room with a fridge and coffee making facilities. We only ate in the hotel the first morning and the breakfast was excellent, but we like tapas and little cafes so ate out all the time, but the dining room looked great.
We will definitely be back.

Want to go to the beach? well, this hotel is great for that! Being a 3 star as well as a beach hotel, I know what I should expect but Hotel Almirante surprised me positively. Location: a 1-minute walk to the beach. Prefer the pool? well, it's right in front. Want to go to the City center? I know there is a tram and bus lines close by but I did have my own car so I did not need them (by car, the City center is about a 15/20 minute drive away but there are many shops and restaurants close by for which you do not need a car).
Staff is very polite and make you feel like a special guest (congrats to the reception and restaurant staff). The only thing that reveals that this is in fact a 3 star hotel are the rooms, furniture, coridoors and balcony railings. Nonetheless, the overall hotel atmosphere is cosy and we felt good here and slept like babies (maybe we were lucky with our neighbours :-)).
The only negative point was that one of the guests that was there during our stay refused to use a mask in public areas during what seems to be a Covid-19 second wave. We saw that the staff quietly recommended that she put on a mask but she refused (the Hotel management should enforce this better).
So, would I stay here again? the answer is very simply... YES !!!

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. We didn't want to stay in the centre of Alicante but wanted to be close to the beach. San Juan beach is across the road/tram tracks and there are a few beach restaurants/bars along the beach strip. These restaurants mainly serve Mediterranean cuisine and seafood, and we ate at Casa Domingo which was great. There are also bars and restaurants a few streets away from the hotel among the residential area. We spotted some sports bars, burger places and pizza places around that area.
The hotel grounds are lovely with a nice garden and pool area. There is also a pool bar and music playing while you lounge beside the pool. The hotel had outdoor bar and restaurant seating areas which was lovely at night and for breakfast in the morning. We ate tapas in the restaurant a few nights and enjoyed the food. The breakfast selection was really good, a mix of hot and cold foods, breads, fruits etc and I enjoyed the lovely cold Spanish omelette slice every morning!!
There is a Consum supermercado about a 5 minute walk from the hotel, and a pharmacy too. The supermarket is quite big and has everything you need.
Our room faced out the front of the hotel and we had a pool view as the pool is across from the front entrance to the hotel. The balcony was nice and clean and we could dry our towels on the railing. The room was nice, clean and modern and the air conditioning was amazing during the 30+ degree heat. There's a fridge and a kettle so it was handy to keep some drinks chilled. Our only quibble was the shower was missing a door so it was impossible not to get the floor wet, even with the floor towel. It's not a big issue but the hotel should really have a shower door to avoid unnecessary damage to their flooring.
The reception staff were really nice, as were the restaurant and bar staff.
The tram stop to get to Alicante city centre is about 5 minutes away from the hotel. You can pay on the tram by card and can select English on the machine. It's about 2.90euro to travel to the city centre and takes about 15 mins.
It was a really nice location if you want to spend time by the lovely San Juan beach or by the pool. If you do want more action at night, the tram will bring you to the city and taxis are reasonably priced.
I would definitely stay here again!

Lovely hotel and very clean. We had a corner room so had amazing views of both the pool and the beach. Both the room and the bathroom were a really good size with plenty of storage.
This hotel is located in a quiet part of Alicante which suited us during the day. There is a limited bar service by the pool. We would have preferred it if the pool opened at 10am or a bit earlier - 10:30 am seemed quite late.
There was a good selection for breakfast. We did eat in the hotel restaurant one evening. The food was tasty but the menu was quite limited and it was more expensive than other restaurants in the centre of Alicante. The mojitos were excellent!
We went at the end of May which doesn't seem to be high season, as the restaurants near the hotel / beach weren't open in the evening.
It was easy enough to get a tram to the main part of the town, with the tram station only five minutes walk from the hotel and the journey taking less than 15 minutes; this was also cheap. We got taxis back later which cost about 15 euros.
Taxis to / from the airport took about 25 minutes and cost about 40 euros.
We would definitely go back.

Nice hotel but in a residential area and nothing to do in the area in April. Not sure when the season starts but the area was very quiet with most of few restaurants closed. The beach was lovely and stretched for miles but didn’t have loungers or umbrellas on it. The hotel breakfast was often cold as they didn’t use the heaters under the breakfast containers. The food in the restaurant in the evening was mostly inedible! The hotel hosted events on both Saturdays when we were there and the pool was closed to guests for one of these. The music was incredibly loud throughout the event with no thought for any guest wishing to take siesta or just relax! The reception staff had almost no knowledge of where shops or restaurants were and we went sent on a long trek when in actual fact, the supermarket was just around the corner! On the plus side, the hotel was very clean and most waiting staff were friendly, it wasn’t far from the tram which was good as we had to travel to Alicante most evenings for eat out.

We've stayed here before and were delighted to discover the rooms have been redecorated. The electric blinds help to get a great night's sleep. The staff are all extremely helpful, friendly and kind. The location is great for a very short walk on to a very long beach. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance (about 20 mins) and there is a tram stop about 10 mins away which enables you to get to Alicante if you want a larger town. Surprised the hotel is rated 3* we will definitely be returning again.

Wonderful find this spotlessly clean hotel is, every member of staff were friendly and helpful too. The buffet breakfast was top class, I was delighted to see my favourite smoked salmon which I had with perfectly cooked scrambled eggs. The only thing this hotel could improve on is to add more power outlets to the bedrooms, there was only one and we had a room with 3 single beds. Great location too, a short walk away from the tram station so a trip to the centre of Alicante was easy (€1.45 each, each way), we could of gone the opposite direction to Benidorm too if we had stayed longer. We didn't make use of the swimming pool but it looked very well looked after as did all the grounds.

Dear 696jeannettee, Wow! We are incredibly grateful for your glowing review of our hotel. It brings us immense joy to hear that your stay with us was such a wonderful discovery, and that you found everything impeccably clean and our staff friendly and helpful. Thank you for highlighting our first-class buffet breakfast - we're thrilled that you enjoyed the delicious spread, especially your favorite smoked salmon paired with perfectly cooked scrambled eggs. Your suggestion regarding adding more plugs in the bedrooms is duly noted, and we'll certainly look into enhancing this aspect for our guests' convenience. We're delighted that you found our location convenient, just a stone's throw away from the tram station, allowing for easy access to Alicante city center. Even though you didn't get the chance to use our pool, we're glad you noticed its pristine condition, along with our well-maintained gardens. Once again, thank you for your kind words and for choosing to stay with us. We can't wait to welcome you back for another fantastic experience in the future. Warmest regards, Cristina T. Dpto. My honest review. This hotel concentrates on corporate events and as holiday travellers, we were made to feel like second class citizens by the bar and restaurant staff. Front desk were lovely and friendly, but everytime we ordered a meal or drink the bar and restaurant staff were very rude. We spent slot of money there eating evening meals on 3 occasions, everytime there served us they said "two diet cokes ?" I had to say no each time and say no thanks I would like s bottle of rose etc. They ran around after the local corporate guests and we always felt out of place. They sneered at us each time we ordered. The room was very lovely the pool gorgeous but there is a large construction site next to the pool and the noise is constant and horrendous, not the hotels fault but be aware its not peaceful at all, its a constant siren and angle grinding. No other restaurants open near the hotel for the 5 days we were there but as e left they had opened today so there would be more choice now. Breakfast was lovely but again we were the only one dressed for a holiday amongst lots of business suited guests and it didn't feel relaxing or comfortable. Older gentleman on reception very friendly. They need to tell the bar and restaurant staff to be nicer to holiday guests, we were very polite but they always made us feel like we were not worth bothering with. Beach is stunning, very quiet residential area, if it wasn't for the construction site noise it would be very peaceful.
