Simple services done with good performance.
Gym and swimming pool quite good, nice environment and very friendly staff,
Far away from the downtown, but fast to reach by taxi or by the free BUS.
Restaurant and Cafeteria too simple, not good in range.
The reception is catastrophic. Unsympathetic staff at will, except the cleaners. Not being Welsh, I was struck by the coldness of the premises, even the lack of respect towards foreigners. We don't feel welcome or accepted. Even speaking Spanish. Very unpleasant experience. Better come in a group.
ā¢ Difficult to find (even with GPS)
ā¢ There is a kitchenette in the room and administration doesnāt care that stinky oily smell stays in the room from previous use. I understand that probably not all rooms are smelly and awful, but this has to be checked by staff. Durty/smelly rooms mustn't be used as "hotel"
We arrived late in the evening, reception is far away (in a different building about 400m away) and didnāt have any time or strength to go all the way back to reception to change the room.
We opened the window, but it didnāt help much and we were bitten by mosquitos for the rest of the night for the luxury of fresh air.
ā¢ Walls are made of paper so you can hear everything your neighbours are doing
ā¢ Beds are very basic and squeaky
ā¢ Thanks to previous reviews we even didnāt bother to go for breakfast
ā¢ Staff are nice, but this is their job, to be honest.
Summary:
- If you are above 23 ā 25 years old donāt go there if you can avoid
- If you really want/need to stay there, book well in advance to get good price.
- If you didn't get good price, go for different hotel (+20-30Euro and you can get much better quality for your money elsewhere)
- If you go there, be prepared that this is just a dormitory with noisy students and very thin walls
- Booking.com should really check from time to time what hotels are actually offering at extortionate price
- If you managed to find the deal for this hotel for 30-50USD, then the ratio price/quality will be much more realistic then we paid and you might even enjoy this place. We didn't.
