A total 5 star experience - How special to get to stay a week tucked up in a fortress in luxurious historical surroundings - nothing was too much trouble the staff were very accommodating and discreet, the restaurant (The Captains Table )had amazing food, excellent service and beautiful surroundings, and not too badly priced for an upmarket French restaurant. We...

If you like historical, beautifully renovated buildings you will love this hotel. It is full of character, in both the public areas with lots of small individual sitting areas, and the rooms. The restaurant is to be found in a detached villa next to the hotel and it is bright and airy but well decorated serving excellent contemporary French food,...

Fans of architecture and history, stay here! Brilliant location, amazing renovation sympathetic to original, friendly helpful staff and extremely good value for money. 10 minute walk into port, what more could you ask for?

A magical place, with nice welcome. The views fro the rooms are very good. The only negative point (but it looks it is the case for all hotels in Belle ile) is that internet connection is poor especially in high season. This should be mentioned at the time of reservation.

A hotel in a medieval fortress--with all the quirks left in. Our room had vaulted and beamed ceilings, old doors and surfaces. Comfy bed, modern touches in furnishings, and a great private balcony with ocean/port views. Lovely, accomodating staff that really enjoy making guests feel at home. Breakfast can be had outdoors, complete with gulls ready to snatch your jambon...

We had a lovely stay in Mid-September and were offered a very good rate as it was almost the end of the hotel's season. The hotel offers a free pick-up from the island's small airfield (or the harbour) which adds to the vip feel. We had a stunning stone-built room in Quartier de l'Amirauté which has the additional benefit of...

We had a grear time here with 6 adults and 3 kids. The hotel is stunning and the view all around the castle is amazing. The restaurant is very good in the evening, especially the starters and main courses. Book the restaurant in advance, we couldn't get a table the second night.

There's no point in staying anywhere else in Le Palais, since this place is not much more expensive than other options in town and very unique as it a castle/fortress. The service was very friendly, there was free Wi-Fi (but only at the reception area), there were also a number of lounge areas where one could watch TV. The whole...

I booked this hotel as a birthday treat for my son and his girlfriend. All communications with the hotel via email were dealt with promptly. The hotel picked them up from the ferry as requested and the driver was very pleasant and friendly. All the hotel staff were very helpful and polite. The room was amazing and the leisure facilities...

After staying here I can now say I slept in an old castle for two nights. Who else gets to experience this? Truly unique. The good: large stone wood room with castle atmosphere, citadelle grounds to roam around, jacuzzi and sauna, English speaking staff The bad: no safe in room, no lights on ceiling making the room dark, 10 minute...
