Our stop in Yanque was supposed to last just a night as a quick stop before the colca canyon. But instead, thanks to the advice of our host at Sumaq Wayra hostel, we decided to stay for an additional day. And what a good decision ! The lady told us about a hike that we could do around the village and arranged it with a guide ; an elder of the village that knows EVERYTHING as his grandfather participated to the discoveries of pre-incas ruins and artifacts in the area. He continued the work of his grandfather and take care of a small museum in his own house etc... We spent 4~5 hours the 3 of us and it was really great !

We ate three lovely meals here; If you want a large range of choice you are in the the wrong place; but if you want freshly cooked dishes with authentic ingredients then this is the place! There is no menu as such but the owner will explain what choices she has on offer for the day. The Alpaca meat was lovely. We did not stay there as we had booked elsewhere but I was shown several rooms and they all looked fairly basic but had clean en suite facilities. Good value stay in a lovely village (much better than staying in Chivay in my opinion)

We had a great time in Yanque. The rooms are beautiful and clean, the shower was hot. The breakfast was very good and you have to try the Alpaka Steak for dinner, it is really delicious. Liliana and Freddy and Antonia are very friendly and helpful. To complete their service they offer bike and motorcycle renting and tours if you like. Yanque is a small town but there are a few shops, restaurants and hot springs where we got by feed when we stayed in Liliana’s. I think it’s the perfect place to stay if you would like to visit Colca Canyon.

We had an awesome stay in This place! Lovely rooms awesome hostess, Great Peruvian food. Clean rooms, hot shower! Great location! Good price! The hostess can arrange Nice activities. The hostel is in the rustique city and close to the center!

The perfect location in Yanque! Very close to the main square. The best host ever Liliana is incredibly kind, attentive and awesome person! She will organize all events you ask with the best price: horse and zipline ride, she will recommend the best options to choose and she cooks an excellent and tasty peruvian food! I felt like home at her hotel and will highly recommend you to stay there too! Will come back here again for sure!
