Stayed here 1 night early august. At a $85 rate this was an overpriced place. Rooms had no view or furniture, except for the bed. It was cold and the small electrical heater doesn't really help. It is more a shelter then an actual hotel.
This hotel is remote from Chivay, but in a small village 10 minutes away (which we did not have time to explore). Nice environment, overlooked by mountains. The room was quite large - heaters were supplied to warm the room up, but we did not need to put them on. Breakfast was standard, the restaurant was huge - I don't know if they cater for coach parties some times? Staff appeared friendly, but we were not in the hotel long enough (other than to sleep), to really make objective comments.
We stayed here 1 night while visiting Colca Canyon. The room while plain was fine. We knew there would be no TV or internet. Aheater and plenty of blankets were provided. What was needed were pillows. The pillows provided were horrible. I had to fill my backpack with clothes and use it as my pillow. My wife used an extra blanket as her pillow. The reception area and dining hall were so cold that all the staff and people dining had coats & gloves on. The dinner buffet was terrible and cold. Would look to stay elsewhere next time.
Helpful staff. Big rooms, spacious and plenty of storage, although no hangers. No tv or internet. Plenty of hot water and towels. Extra blankets and heaters in bedrooms and bathrooms. Area around the hotel is stunning. Only stayed one night on the way through. Menu adequate, as usual a bit of a wait for the food but it was all cooked from fresh, not sure if peak season would be quicker, and it was tasty. They provided an early breakfast for us, eggs, bread, jams, tea and coffee. Would like to have stayed longer but it was a stop over on the way to see the Condors.
We find a good hotel, very quite and clean. The beds were comfortable and the room was kept warm with a small heater. The breakfast was good, home made bread (nice smell early in the morning) and essential you need. We also had diner in the hotel, and comparing to other place was quite ok. This hotel was one of the best that we choose in Peru, comparing price/quality. We recommend this hotel, to anyone, who is looking for a quite place to rest after exhausting day in Colca Canyon.
