There are 2 Hotel Monterey's in Ginza and we stayed at La Souer. We saw a few guests make the mistake on arrival, so please check your paperwork as it's a hassle to drag your bags a few streets away. It is a 12 story boutique but basic hotel, with 2 charming old world lifts that have a dial. I...

Hotel Monterey Lasoeur Ginza is a small "charming" hotel, situated conveniently to restaurants, shopping and general sightseeing in the Ginza area. The rooms are generally quite small which isn't unusual for Japanese accommodation. Ideally, this is a great hotel for a short term stay (1-2 nights) but any longer, the small rooms would be mind altering. The hotel staff were...

The bathroom smells like urine and the room smells like old wet cave. When you open the window to get rid of the smell you can't sleep because of the noise from the street (highest floor). Early in the morning we heard the other guests from the close rooms waking up so we had a terrible and also short night...

Very little charming hotel to stay with. Very small room, good location, but with budget stay, not a bad hotel. Good for budget traveller to stay with, not for family for sure! Maybe the twin room is one of the choices to try as showing bigger.

Expect to pay ££££££$$$$$$ for a small room in Tokyo. These rooms are small, but not much than a normal budget hotel. We had a twin room, 2 adults, a 3 year old and a baby (with a cot provided) and were perfectly fine. We don't go on holiday to stay in the room. Japanese hotels are extremely poor value...

Surprised to read other reviews about this hotel saying the room smelt old with high humidity. I did not experience anything like that. The hotel is small and French inspired located on a quiet side street. The twin room was small - but expected, after all this is Japan. There was no unpleasant odour at all. The bedroom and bathroom...
