The hotel is about 15 min walk to Shibuya station. We had a bit of confusion on how to get there since the bus no that was stated on their website for the direction was no longer in use. Good thing, the staffs in Shibuya station is familiar with hotel Fukudaya and they directed us the simplest way in getting... More

Japanese hotels are usually very consistent no matter what but this one is the worst I have ever had per se. The hotel is far from Shibuya station like at least 15 minutes walkjnd and even my taxi driver can't really find it. And the south Asian staff at front desk was very unfriendly when asking to change to a... More

I stayed in the Hotel Fukudaya in March 2016 for two nights. It's a ryokan style hotel located about fifteen minutes walk from Shibuya Station. The hotel is located on a quiet side street and is surprisingly peaceful considering how close it is to the hustle and bustle of Shibuya. Upon my arrival I was greeted by a friendly and... More

I really enjoyed staying in the single traditional room for four nights. The neighbourhood (and the hotel itself) is very peaceful; best of all is the Family Mart literally behind the hotel! The hotel is a great base for exploring not only the Tokyo city area, but also around Daikanyama (10 minutes walk), Shimokitazawa (a few train stops away) and... More

Nice traditional japanese hotel room , easy walk to sjibuya station. We slept on futons with traditional pillows, but western style sre available if you want. Incredibly helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble. Beware the directions on the website due to road works , but once done was really easy evrryday. Highly recomend

This was a great find. We wanted to retain a fully Japanese experience the whole time in Japan and this sweet little hotel was just that. It was easy to get to from shibuya station on the bus and was clean and not as expensive as many other hotels in Japan.

We had a pretty, traditional room for a family of five. It was clean and the kids love sleeping on futons with a tatami mat floor. The staff were wonderful and could not help us enough. The location is excellent with lots of fun family stuff to do nearby, my kids range from 7-14, so they enjoyed the great shop... More

Nice little traditional hotel. Stayed a couple of days to enjoy a local hotel experience. It was a pleasant walk into Shibuya crossing and it was fun to explore around the area. Also not to far from the park where we ran to from the hotel. Lovely staff.

We had got a nice and clean Japanese style room, with a attached bathroom. The rest that we needed after a long journey from Quetta was nicely fulfilled in this hotel. It is approachable via a bus from Shibuya Station, though the route shown for walk is quite complicated.

I spent 7 nights in Hotel Fukudaya, on the occasion of the international conference. I selected this accommodation so as to experience life in a Japanese ryokan instead of a big international hotel. The hotel is located close to Shibuya station and the place is surprisingly quiet. Very friendly staff communicates well in English, but you can also practise there... More

Staying in Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu

Neighbourhood Profile
Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.
