Ideal hotel if you're on business in the area. Proximity to Shinagawa station is ideal to coordinate travels to meetings. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. There are always promotional packages available and prices are reasonable for Tokyo. Staff is extremely helpful and supportive. Although not not in the city center it is a great place to relax with a...

Excellent property close to Shinagawa Station. Large rooms and great service, with a nice Japanese garden within the hotel. Location is not the best for tourists, but it's a 4 minute walk to Shinagawa station which is well connected to the rest of Tokyo, and also convenient for the Shinkansen to Kyoto and beyond. Breakfast is expensive, but there are...

Just up the street, maybe a 5 minute walk, from the Shinagawa Station, you will find this hotel. The location is perfect, even if it is a little outside of the city center, because the subway or JR train will take you where you need to go quite quickly. We explored Tokyo for five days with this hotel as our...

I stayed here one night when I arrived from Atlanta with my best friend from high school. I needed a hotel near by major Shinkansen station and find the hotel super close to Shinagawa train station! The hotel exceeded my expectations! The room was very large compared to typical other Tokyo hotels and service was great!! I am Japanese but...

Amazing location, staff, beautiful clean, perfect spa services and delicious food. Across the street from the rail line. I don't speak Japanese and had several people help me with a multitude of details. They were kind and patient and delivered EVERY TIME! A PERFECT 10! I'll be back!!!

My husband and I visited Tokyo last on our Japan trip and were so happy with our stay at The Prince Sakura. The rooms are a little more than your average hotel room, but the cost is by all means worth it! The room was very large, had a comfortable king sized bed, excellent bathroom with shower and a jetted...

As others have noted, this hotel is a 1960's-era building set, along with three other sister hotels, around a lovely Japanese garden about a five-minute walk from Shinagawa station. Consequently, it is very quiet but also quite convenient for getting to, from, and around Tokyo. The hotel is part of a Japanese chain but also affiliated with Marriott. The building...

This is the coolest place. A beautiful retreat from the frenetic energy of the rest of Tokyo. Just a 5 minute walk from Shinagawa Jr station- I had two heavy bags and a small bag and I easily navigated the slight incline to the hotel. The timber canopy entrance , surrounded by a beautiful Japanese garden, welcomes you to walk...

Staying in Shinagawa / Gotanda

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinagawa / Gotanda
In Shinagawa, an office district shares space with luxury residential buildings and the scene is constantly changing with rapid development. Ikedayama park and Togoshi park are great places to see beautiful traditional Japanese gardens with ponds, as well as enjoy the changing seasons. Shinagawa was a post and a port town during the Edo era and the lavish old Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples at Shinagawa and Ebara are very popular. It's a great place to get in touch with the old Edo atmosphere on a pleasure boat cruising along the canal. The neighboring area around Gotanda station is a study in modern contrasts filled with unique restaurants and a lively nightlife.
