We stayed at 5 different hotels throughout our time in Japan, 3 of which were in Tokyo. This was our least favourite due to location and the quality of sleep we had. I will start with the positives which were: The service from the hotel staff I must say we could not fault and the beautiful lobby gave us a...

My sons and I decided to go to Japan on a whim. We picked the hotel via Starwood. The rooms were quite large especially by Japan standards. The staff was very polite, courteous, and attentive. The Miyako is a business hotel and our two week stay was a bit surprising to them. They often thanked us for being there. They...

Just checked into the hotel this evening (March 18) and they were very proud to say they updated my room to deluxe room with two beds as a platinum member. Although I booked the room with two bed, I asked for a king bed. The women who checked me in said " so sorry" no king bed. She then said...

We traveled as a family over christmas and had a wonderful stay. The room was very nice. Bathroom was a little dated. The hotel provided nice toiletries in the room everyday including slippers, toothbrush, hairbrush bath salts etc. The hotel is not near a lot of restaurants but the hotel provides a shuttle bus to the main train stations nearby...

We love this hotel. The lobby is beautiful and so welcoming. Check in desk was so very easy and professional. The valets and all greeting staff are happy and kind. Our suite was just the most fabulous. Very large and every thing we would needed. Most of all we loved the balcony looking over the courtyard. We watched the sunset,...

Overall, their service is impeccable as in most hotels in Japan. As SPG platinum, my room was upgraded and club lounge services included with breakfast. The spread there is alright. Rooms are clean, though a little dated. I think they are refurbishing it now. Hotel is in a local affluent neighborhood. Hotel includes a shuttle every 15 ins to Shinagawa...

You will enjoy the hotel and the beautiful garden. Like both the Chinese restaurant and the California Grill for the quality of service, food and peaceful atmosphere. Also like the lobby lounge. Shuttle service to airports and nearby train stations make this a convenient spot for a visit to TOKYO

Staying in Shinagawa / Gotanda

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinagawa / Gotanda
In Shinagawa, an office district shares space with luxury residential buildings and the scene is constantly changing with rapid development. Ikedayama park and Togoshi park are great places to see beautiful traditional Japanese gardens with ponds, as well as enjoy the changing seasons. Shinagawa was a post and a port town during the Edo era and the lavish old Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples at Shinagawa and Ebara are very popular. It's a great place to get in touch with the old Edo atmosphere on a pleasure boat cruising along the canal. The neighboring area around Gotanda station is a study in modern contrasts filled with unique restaurants and a lively nightlife.
