The Sheraton Miyako is probably fine if coming purely for business or an event held at the hotel. There is a shuttle bus to and from nearby rail/metro connections. Otherwise the place feels a bit remote - it was tricky to find dinner outside the hotel, for example. The local area is quite residential and does not align at all...

A friend who lives in Tokyo recommended we stay at the Sheraton Miyako. The rooms are a little old but the service was exceptional. The hotel was easily accessible by the door to door bus from Narita Airport. We stayed in a room on the 6th floor and as members of starwood were upgraded. The gardens behind reception give you...

I stayed at the Sheraton Miyako for three nights recently. It was everything you want from a good hotel. From the moment I arrived, staff were friendly and efficient. Rooms were well sized, comfortable and quiet. Room service was fast, and the breakfast in the restaurant was very good too. To top it off, there's plenty of transport options, including...

Typical of almost all of Japan, the service here was excellent, friendly and always with a smile and politeness! I've stayed here before and enjoy the shuttle bus to Meguro station on the Yamanote JR line. The concierge was very helpful with maps and directions, even to advising what train platform to look for when I went to Tennodai Station....

We were traveling from Osaka to Toyko on the Shinsakan and lost my small leather bag with my passport, cellphone and other very important items. I only realized it when I arrived at the Sheraton. The Concierge staff help us locate the bag by calling both the Sheraton Osaka where I checked out in the morning and JR Rail. Ms....

A good nights sleep is assured at this very quiet hotel (although we were on the top floor). Free shuttle bus to/from the nearest JR station every 15 minutes is a bonus. Free WiFi in each room was a bit flukey at first but after a check by hotel tech person it was all OK. Recommend a JR Rail Pass...

I am a business traveler and have very hectic schedules. This was my first trip to Japan and I was told that hotels is Tokyo have a very small room. Surprisingly, Sheraton had quite big rooms as compared to other Japanese hotels. So 1 plus point. The hotel ambience was relaxing with soothing music in the room and in the...

This hotel is very peaceful with very nice lounge and friendly staff. downstairs there is a nice clinic with very friendly and good workers. I liked this place especially sitting in the lounge under the peaceful music and drinking my favorite drink. In addition the Friendly Limousine Bus take you to and from Miyako hotel to the Narita airport. Enjoy.

This hotel is within a few minutes taxi ride from Shinagawa train station. So it's easily accessible from the airports and other cities via train. Hotel is fine with three good restaurants depending on what kind of food or breakfast you like. The hotel has a good swimming pool where you can actually swim for exercise, not only swim around...

Relaxing garden, unfortuntely smokey lounge. Great tasting restaurant with very friendly staff. Disconnected from their internet availability. I almost had to switch hotel since they were not aware they had free rooms for another week.

Staying in Shinagawa / Gotanda

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinagawa / Gotanda
In Shinagawa, an office district shares space with luxury residential buildings and the scene is constantly changing with rapid development. Ikedayama park and Togoshi park are great places to see beautiful traditional Japanese gardens with ponds, as well as enjoy the changing seasons. Shinagawa was a post and a port town during the Edo era and the lavish old Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples at Shinagawa and Ebara are very popular. It's a great place to get in touch with the old Edo atmosphere on a pleasure boat cruising along the canal. The neighboring area around Gotanda station is a study in modern contrasts filled with unique restaurants and a lively nightlife.
