The Royal Park Hotel Iconic Tokyo Shiodome has earned recognition for its spacious rooms boasting impressive views, although some guests suggest they could benefit from an update. A standout feature is the hotel's prime location, with easy access to public transportation and the Ginza district. While the service receives mixed reviews, with accolades for the friendly staff but some reports of unresponsiveness, the amenities – including a varied breakfast and well-equipped rooms – generally receive high praise. Opinions on value are divided, reflecting satisfaction with the amenities but some disappointment in the service and dining options. Cleanliness is typically highlighted as a strong point, yet there have been isolated instances of subpar maintenance.

We stayed for a couple of nights at the Royal Park Hotel at the end of a two week trip around Japan. We'd decided to treat ourselves by spending a bit more money than we had on the other hotels we'd stayed in, and Royal Park was by far the best hotel for the money! Our room had the most magnificent view out towards the Hamarikyu Gardens, particularly spectacular at night. We booked a standard double and the room was a very good size, plenty of space for our big suitcases, and the bathroom was large too with separate bath and shower facilities. We didn't order breakfast so I can't comment on the food, but we had a drink and a dessert in the bar on the day we arrived and the service was impeccable. Also the hotel is very handy for Ginza and well connected via the subway stops nearby. We chose the hotel because it was easy to get to Haneda airport too via the monorail which is only one stop away.
Another unexpected benefit of this hotel is that it's right across from Nippon TV headquarters and on the side of that building there is a beautiful mechanical clock designed by Hayao Miyazaki, and every few hours it puts on a show with music and lights and different characters moving on the face of the clock.
The hotel is very quiet and peaceful and we slept well both nights we were there.

The hotel is situated in floors 24 and up in a high rise building so the views are absolutely gorgeous. The rooms are equipped with nice amenities but the standard rooms get pretty cramped with two large pieces of luggage.
The breakfast felt a bit overregulated with the seating and ordering rules and also the prohibition of wearing your hotel slippers.
The train/subway connections are great as the hotel is connected to two different stations and you can even take a direct train to either Narita or Haneda airports, it takes about one hour and ten minutes to Narita but saves the discomfort of having to change lines.
The hotel’s bar offers a good variety of drinks and their sake cocktail was very tasty. Staying here is definitely a bit hard on the budget but then Tokyo is generally an expensive city.

Dear rooftopfoodie, Thank you for your kind review of your recent stay at The Royal Park Hotel Iconic Tokyo Shiodome. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the stunning views from our high-rise location and appreciated the excellent transport connections to both Narita and Haneda airports. We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced regarding the room size, particularly when accommodating luggage. We continually strive to provide a comfortable experience for all our guests. Regarding breakfast, we understand that the seating and ordering procedures can feel regulated; however, they are in place to ensure a smooth dining experience for everyone. We appreciate your understanding of our policy concerning hotel slippers. Best regards, The Royal Park Hotel Iconic Tokyo Shiodome

This was a great hotel located on top of the Shiodome Train station making travel either within the city or on to the next location very easy. The room was very clean although fairly small by Uk/ European standards but that is usual in Japan. Our room was on 34th floor and breakfast was served a few floors down. Try to get a table along the far side with the view of tokyo tower as on a clear day you will also see Mount Fuji. There was a varied choice for breakfast - with a buffet and then a selection of eggs which you could order. For dinner we found a greater selection of restaurants around the opposite side of the station. Tokyo is an extremely clean and calm feeling city. Whilst its not close to all of the top sights you can walk to Tokyo tower and easily get the metro to the others. I would definitely stay here again.

Check-in was friendly and efficient. The room was a disappointment - small, although efficiently designed, but with aging decor. The 'plastic' bath and shower walls did not exude '4 star' quality.

Most of the staff were friendly and responsive to our few requests. There are three or four washer/dryers (free), three ice machines and three or four vending machines (snacks, juice and beer) on level 26. The gym is tiny, poorly equipped and stuck away on B2. Reception is on Level 24, which means two lifts journeys are required to reach ground floor. A slight annoyance.

We visited the bar one evening, but we were the only patrons, so that was an unsatisfying experience. We then attempted to eat in the dining room, only to be advised that it was fully booked. My partner was skeptical of this and was incredulous to see that the dining room was almost empty. The slick website for this hotel is a fantasy of what is offered in reality. We stayed 4 nights - if the booking had ben for longer we would have relocated. There are other hotels nearby, some in the same price bracket, and others substantially more expensive.

Breakfast was the highlight - an extensive buffet, and table service for four cooked 'set' breakfast items. And with views to Mt Fuji - the weather was bright and sunny for our stay - it was a pleasant way to start the day. Close to Tokyo Tower, and conveniently situated near the junction of a few metro and JR East railways, the location is excellent. Just avoid peak hour on the metro if you're a tourist. Nearby is 'Little Italy'. so that was a surprise and opened up a few interesting dining options.

Overall, it was a disappointing experience, not to be repeated.

I recently stayed at this four-star hotel, expecting the level of service to match its rating. Unfortunately, I was met with shockingly poor treatment that left me frustrated and disappointed. I had an early flight and requested a takeaway breakfast—a reasonable request that countless hotels, even lower-rated ones, can easily fulfill. Instead, the staff outright dismissed my need, suggesting I “go outside and buy a sandwich if I wanted something to eat before my departure". This was beyond unacceptable, especially not at this supposed “luxury” level. I would not recommend staying here to anyone who values even a basic level of service and professionalism. This experience has definitely left a bad impression, and I won’t be returning.

I stayed in a corner suite on the executive floor on the 38th floor. It just reopened on December 27, 2024.

The room was spacious, beautiful, comfortable, and had a wonderful reflection, and I was able to take in the view of Tokyo to myself as if it framed the skyscraper of Tokyo. It is a residence type with a kitchenette and microwave oven. There was also a facial device in the room that was only available in YA-MAN’s salon worth about 500,000 yen.

The Executive Lounge is exclusive to the Executive Floor and offers all-you-can-eat and drink different from breakfast, refreshment and cocktail times, as well as Moët champagne.

For dinner, we had a W hors d'oeuvres & W main skyscraper course at the 24th floor all-day dining HARMONY with views of Tokyo Tower and Mt.

Convenient for sightseeing in Tokyo within a few minutes' walk from Shimbashi Station and Shiodome Station, it is mainly used by inbound customers, but I thought it was suitable for children's and anniversary stays as well as for fully enjoying the luxurious experience.

Stayed here 4 nights in one of their concepts rooms, which was around 340€ per night.
First the pros:
- The location with several underground and Jr lines minutes away, in an area with shops, restaurants…
- on the 26th floor there are facilities to do your laundry, but also a microwave, vending machines…
- The Japanese breakfast they offer during the weekends was lovely.
Cons:
- My hotel room was outdated and needing an uplift asap.
- The cleaning… omg! When I arrived Under the tv set there were 2 boxes from previous guests and stayed there for 2 days, from that you can imagine the standard.
- I got mixed information from the reception regarding the forwarding of my luggage to the Royal Park Haneda Airport hotel. I was leaving on a Tuesday and first they told me to leave my luggage on Monday before 3:00 pm. Then on Sunday I go to check the time and they tell me I should have sent my luggage on that day, just to be sure. As my plane is leaving Wednesday early morning I didn’t want to chance it and finally took a taxi on Tuesday with all my luggage.
- The buffet breakfast was average to say the least.

We stayed for 2 weeks in a junior suite with two kids. The room was large by Tokyo standards with a comfortable sofa seating area, desk/dining area, window seat and two beds. Additionally there was a coffee machine, kettle, microwave and mini fridge along with iron, ironing board, safe, hairdryer etc. and plenty of storage.
The room had fantastic views across the city towards Tokyo Skytree and to Hamarikyu Gardens on another side. The bathroom was large with the same amazing views and included separate washlet toilet and wet room with a full sized bath and decent shower. The complementary facial products were good quality, and the amenities also included hairbrush, toothbrush etc. The room was very clean and comfortable and there was virtually no noise from other rooms or the corridor though some street noise such as sirens could be heard.

The staff were friendly and we were grateful that they let us check in a bit early, as we were very jet lagged. They helped me to order a cake for my child’s birthday and had it sent up to the room for us at a time that suited.

The hotel is situated in very close to Shimbashi station and has shops and restaurants located in the surrounding Shiodome Sio Site area. It is also very close to Shiodome station which gives you easy access to Odaiba. Studio Ghibli fans should check out the clock just outside the hotel which plays twice a day.

We had a very comfortable stay and would definitely return to this hotel.

This hotel, like many in Tokyo starts 20+ floors above street level, which makes for rooms isolated from street noise. And the rooms are very well appointed, with comfortable beds and linens, PAJAMAS, every toiletry item imaginable, black out curtains, a flashlight, and more.

Located atop the Shiodom subway station is convenient for hitting a wide variety of tourist sites. Also there are LOTS of shops, restaurants, convenience stores, etc right there.

The breakfast buffet was really quite good, with a wide variety of foods to choose from, plus you could select one of 3 "made to order" egg dishes for delivery to your table.

We were very pleased to have spent our first 2 nights in Japan here. And we would happily do so again if we're back in Tokyo -- especially if flying into/out of Haneda Airport.

I usually stay at another hotel nearby our Tokyo office but had to stayed here as the other hotel was full.
The hotel was sparkling clean and everything working as it should be. The staff was very helpful with a cheerful smile, greeting us whenever we walked past them. It made me felt that I was right to choose this hotel for this stay.
The room is of a good size and in some rooms, it offered a nice view of the bridges as well as the iconic Tokyo Tower. The climate control was easy to adjust and the beds were comfortable.
The breakfast area could be busy during peak hours and I unfortunately had my drinks over my shirt when someone knocked onto me in the tight spaces. The food was the same everyday though it was nice. There were also other options of breakfast venues available catering to vegetarians and traditional Japanese.
The hotel was nearby to a train station as well as several restaurants and convenience stores. It is also about a 10-minute walk to Ginza.
A very good hotel at a good location indeed, I will choose this hotel again if our usual hotel nearby our office is full.
