Stayed in deluxe king room for business trip. Room is spacious with amenities provided. Nice ambience with a pond and park around the hotel. Going to train station requires a walk down the slope. Will consider staying again

Nice business hotel with a very pretty Japanese garden enclosed by this and the other local hotels. The room I had was a good sized western style room that had been fairly recently updated. Very comfortable bed and very clean.

Having been newly renovated, the Grand Prince Takanawa does show a new and shining face. The lobby is cozy and has a calm ambience, like most Japanese style of low-profile beauty. Location: Located about 10 minutes walk from JR Shinagawa Station, the hotel is not extremely convenient especially when you are taking kids and holding luggage. However, it's embarrassing to...

Stayed at Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa for the first time. It was recommended by a friend and was told the place is newly renovated. Indeed the room is new, clean and well designed. Staff are professional and accommodating. Very impress with their enthusiasm and willingness to go beyond the call of duty to accommodate my family without fuss. Wile the...

The hotel went through a major upgrade and re-opened in early November. According to the hotel staff, the most important purpose of this upgrade was seismological, but it also brought in new carpets, furniture, etc. It definitely looked much cleaner than before.

I stayed here for a business trip and was thoroughly impressed with the amount of space I had - especially for a hotel room in Tokyo. The beds are very comfy and the bathroom is very clean and again, very spacious for this part of the world. All the toiletries you need are provided (all sealed and packed new): comb,...

This hotels location is very convenient as it is on walking distance from Shinagawa station. It has a few hotels in this area all owned by Prince and each with a slightly different name. Be aware of this when looking for this hotel. The surroundings of the hotel are nice with a lot of green and rooms are decent.

This is a great choice in an area overflowing with hotels. The Japanese gardens are beautiful and the steak house on the grounds is available for a real treat: teppanyaki. You can luxuriate here for a price similar to a stark business hotel.

The hotel has very good service and a choice of restaurants. Rooms are large, which is a bit unusual for Tokyo. They are also quite comfortable. Hotel is situated in a quieter spot which makes things more relaxed than other parts of town.

This self proclaimed 'Hotel' has a 5 star view, a 4 star lobby, a 3 star room, a 2 star location, and a 1 star world cruise buffet. Do yourself a favor and don't stay here. It's way too far from the center of the city and we never had the desire to go out for dinner after relaxing in...

Staying in Shinagawa / Gotanda

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinagawa / Gotanda
In Shinagawa, an office district shares space with luxury residential buildings and the scene is constantly changing with rapid development. Ikedayama park and Togoshi park are great places to see beautiful traditional Japanese gardens with ponds, as well as enjoy the changing seasons. Shinagawa was a post and a port town during the Edo era and the lavish old Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples at Shinagawa and Ebara are very popular. It's a great place to get in touch with the old Edo atmosphere on a pleasure boat cruising along the canal. The neighboring area around Gotanda station is a study in modern contrasts filled with unique restaurants and a lively nightlife.
