I stayed here just to see what a capsule hotel was like and was pleasantly surprised. The location is great, close to the station and in the heart of Shinjuku. Checking in was pretty straightforward as there were signs in English and the staff seemed well prepared to deal with clueless, non-japanese speeaking tourists like myself. The capsules were much... It was the ABSOLUTE WORST service experience I've had in my 2 years of being in Japan. The only reason I opted to stay was due to the fact that I was checking in at midnight- after an extremely long day. At check-in, 2 staff members (in plain sight) jankened to see who would have had the 'difficult task' of... More

I didn't plan on staying here. My plans went sideways. I planned on staying in My.Koya but I was unable to find it. So I got onto the JR and travelled 3 hours back to Tokyo a day earlier than planned. I arrived back in Shinjuku around midnight. I had no hotel so I went to this capsule. It was... More

We stayed one night before flying back home the next day and were the only Westerners in the hotel. It's a strange experience all told, but the capsules were fine and we both slept very well. As always the Japanese are very courteous so nobody disturbed our sleep but you should bring earplugs. The bathing is onsen-style so you shower... More

Clean, quiet, efficient and well located. The capsule hotel is almost right next to the Seibu-Shinjuku station. However, a 5 minute walk will take you to/from the JR Shinjuku station which is far better connected and provides a link to various major lines like the Yamanote (which loops round the city and hits a large number of Tokyo's main sight... The location is great, right in the Shinjuku nightlife district (don't worry, you don't hear much of the outside world in your capsule anyway). We were pretty much the only foreigners which added to the experience. Beds are clean and the dos and donts will be explained to you with the proper patience. You'll find out how everything works in... More

This is quite easy to find and just about 5 minutes walk from the 'Central East Exit' of JR Shinjuku Station. There is a host of places to eat, shop and play in the surrounding neighbourhood of Kabukicho. The salesmen on street corners trying to promote their businesses (young Japanese guys for Japanese/Mandarin and large African men for English) get... More

Great experience, the language barrier is not such a problem as staff is happy to help you. The place is really big and clean and the spa/wet area is its best feature. The capsules are comfortable and yes, you will hear people snoring as there are no doors but embrace the experience! No tattoos allowed.

I wanted to try a capsule hotel, and honestly I loved it and wished I had booked 2 nights instead of 1 night. I was a little nervous based on some of the reviews on here, but I found most of the issues that people had to be not true. First off, you take off your shoes when you enter.... More

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
