Very comfortable size for a Tokyo hotel. Service: The staffs were nice and the check in process was smooth. We asked for some plates and cutleries for our cake and they were delivered within minutes! No tipping required cos it's Japan so that was nice. We stayed in room 414. Bathroom: We believe given the change of name from Best...

This hotel has a great location. A short walk to Shinjuku station, restaurants, bars and shops. Very easy to get anywhere in Tokyo. The room was small but comfortable. We had enough room to open our 2 cases (one large, one small) and not feel too cramped. We booked a room with a small double bed which was fine for...

Rooms are very good, quite, clean room with a nice bed. Reception staff were always friendly and helpful particularly if you check in early no need to come back later and check in since this is very common in Japan. The hotel has complete laundry service (self service) Electrical plugs for European to Japanese power system was available in the...

Excellent accommodation; bed area, seating area and compact but well equipped kitchen which was a useful addition. Space is well planned with plenty of storage. Room was quiet and comfortable. Adequate buffet breakfast which is good value. All but one staff member were helpful and friendly; only the breakfast staff on our last morning, were a little lacking, unwilling to...

First, the location was great, the hotel situated about 5 min from Metro (Shinjuku Gyoenmae). Although the hotel was situated by the roadside, but you won't really feel too noisy at the night. Along the way to Metro, there were many restaurants around, as well as convenient stores. There were also restaurant operated for 24 hours, so you don't need...

Room is comfortable and walking distance to isetan area however service is inconsistent provided to their customers. Some staff are willing to arrange airport transfer to Tokyo international airport but some staff said "I'm afraid we do not have this service ". Some even promised to book the airport transfer bus for you but end up they didn't. All the...

I spent 3 nights in Citidenes Shinjuku with my toddler and baby and had a wonderful time. The convenient location meant we could easily explore Shinjuku by foot, get out and about by metro and end up in the park at the end of the day. Staff went a step beyond their call of duty to help us and didn't...

Location : Shinjukunichôme. It's a festive area full of small restaurants and bars, close to Shinjukusanchôme, which is known to be a gay-friendly area. The Shinjuku-gyoen, famous for cherry-blossom viewing, is about seven minutes walk away from the hotel. You can find fun and calm in the same area. The only problem, which had a second route we did not...

The hotel is great value for money. We were very happy with the spacious room and amenities. The staff were always super polite. It is close to the Maranouchi Subway Station which made it easy to get aroud Tokyo. It isn't a huge walk from the hotel to Shinjuku Station and you can walk along the Gyoen Garden which is...

I spent 5 days at Citadines in March. My apartment was surprisingly large for Tokyo, with a mini kitchen and utensils for cooking. A quiet pedestrian street leads from Shinjuku-gyoemmae metro station (Marunouchi line connecting with Tokyo station) to this Hotel. Entrance to Shinjuku Gyoen national garden is a few hundred meters away, whereas Shinjuku railway station is about 1...

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
