Very convenient location, close to Shin Okubo Station Yamanote line. There are lots of stores, restaurants nearby, but the hotel area was quiet. Friendly and helpful staff. I liked the decoration and the room space. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was ok. Friendly staff. Lack of curtains and no elevator.

Tokyo is amazing, Shinjuku is all. This hotel stay few steps from JR Shin okubo station. There is plenty of places to eat and you can feel more like a "local" then a "tourist" in this area. The hotel stay in a very calm and quite residential street, walking from there to the JR is an amazing experience. We stay...

Stayed here for 3 nights. We were a family of 3, with a teenage son. The room we had was Japanese style and space was just nice for 3 futon beds. The room was small but cosy and the toilet and amenities were great (heated seat)! Water was nice and hot which was much welcomed in the cold winter temperature....

Good place, clean and quiet. Have heated toilet seat. No laundry facilities. Near to train station - about 5 min walk. Many food places around the corners Slightly hard to find in the night, for first timer. The lane leading to the place is not well lighted. Ask around and the local are friendly to guide.

The hotel is located close enough to the train station. Close to a lot of restaurants, some 24 hours opened. The staff are all friendly and helpful. Unlike the other reviews, our toilet and bathroom seemed to have been renovated and looked modern enough. If you like watching television, you have to be content with Japanese stations only. Wonderful experience...

My first stay was when I was taking my vacationing friends around Japan. I was having problems navigating the Tokyo tourism site looking for events happening that weekend. I asked the man at the front desk when we checked in and he went online and translated a small list of local events which included a small festival that was in...

We stayed here twice in during our trip to Japan for a total of 3 nights. We chose this hotel because it seemed good value compared to others in the Shinjuku area, (Seketei is one stop away on the Yamanote line or a 10 minute walk) and because of the traditional style rooms. Overall we were very happy with our...

This hotel has traditional Japanese rooms, e.g. no beds but mats on the floor. I slept well here for two nights. The rooms are on the small side, but that's standard in Tokyo. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.

“There are 3 levels in the hotel and it does not come with a lift. For ladies, I would suggest to take the 1st or 2nd level as the stairs are quite steep. There is a very friendly and strong obaasan at the reception whom you can also approach for help with the luggages up the stairs. :)”
