No regrets of staying in this simple hotel; simple yet very convenient. The hotel is near the JR station about 5 minutes walk, also near from some of the restaurants and also from 7-eleven. The hotel surrounding is quiet, you can sleep very well. All amenities are good, the room is spacious (we got a 2 twin bed room at...

We ended our trip to Japan in Tokyo and stayed at the Shin Okubo International Hotel Annex for 3 nights. This hotel is about a 6 minute walk from the Shin Okubo subway station and walking distance from the Shinjuku shopping district (15-20 minutes). The room was a bit outdated but clean. The beds are not comfortable, but I can sleep...

We stayed at Shin Okubo for the first stint of our Tokyo- Korea trip, and had heard rooms in the capital can be super tiny, so we were surprised at the good size of the room and bathroom. The walls are very thin, and it's definitely basic, but very clean and in a great location for the subway and nightlife....

Stayed here with my Brother on a weekday. Decided last minute to stay in Tokyo for the night. 6,000 yen for a roomy two-bed room and large bathroom. JR Shin Okubo within minutes. Kabukicho area of Shinjuku was a 10-15 minute walk. Staff here spoke several languages. Glad this place was available.

My husband and I travelled all over Japan for 2 weeks and stayed at the Shin-Okubo International Hotel Annex for 3 nights at the end of our trip. Of all the rooms we stayed in during our 2 weeks in Japan (all of a similar price range to this one), this was the only one that we were very disappointed...

This hotel is ok. It's cheap, small but with all necessary. It's very clean and in a very good location. Shinjuku is full of good restaurant and bars and being close to jr yamanote station you can easily go everywhere in the city! One bad note, if you have light sleep like me, doors and walls are thin, you can...

Smaller than what I am use to but who cares? Its in Toyko who sleeps? However, clean room, heated toilet, nice little beds, best shower ever and awesome customer service. The go to place for a reasonable rate during high priced season and nearby restaurant and bars.

The best thing i loved about this hotel was that it provides Shisheido toiletries. =) The hotel was small, but cozy. They also have free coffee in the lobby. Room was great since it provided 3 separate single beds for friends who travel.

I booked a room through booking, the pictures showed something very different. They gave us a room in the annex (the building next to this one) and once we opened the window we found a wall with a pipe, the room was dusty, dark, not nice at all. The price is ok but you can find apartments though airbnb for...

The location is great! Very close o shinjuku, Shin okubo and okubo stations. Staff was pleasant and room was pretty big and convince but shower was terrible. The smell was like mold and it felt inconvenience. There is all that you need in the room. Only problem is that there is no elevator- the man in the front desk helped...

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
