Good value hotel, less than 10 minutes walk from Shunjuku train station. Room was small but adequate, by Japanese budget room standards. Very clean. Bathroom looked quite old but the shower was excellent with powerful water pressure and the shower head was not too low, which I sometimes find.

Usually the west side of Shinjuku is not my fav area to stay in but decided to stay at this hotel due to the affordability. It is approx. 10 minutes walk from the West exit of the vast and maze-like Shinjuku JR station. Hotel itself is not very easy to find but once I found it, it was straightforward from...

Walking distance to subway, liveliness of Shinjuku.Staffs are friendly but limited English. Bed & room is comfortable enough. Not much choice for Breakfast. It's freaky to walk & stay beside cemetery at night for the weak hearts.

Great, very clean hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. The room had a microwave, fridge, and washing machine/dryer making our stay very convenient. My friend and I enjoyed the 10-15minute walk to shinjuku station though there are subways right next to hotel. There is even a hidden shrine in the park across the road. The breakfast was great -...

I really liked this hotel but it is too small for the price, the staff are really friendly but needs to improve the English. This hotel is basically close to everything, a minutes walk from the main Shinjuku station and you can take the narita express from there.

At night, after a long flight, in the drizzle we found it initially difficult to find. However, it's only a 7 mins walk to Shinjuku station which was excellent and not much further to the Tokyo Government Building. Once you've found it once there's no problem finding it again. The corner ramen noddle cafes and local convenience stores made for...

This hotel was selected because the group we were traveling with stayed here; it made transfers to the cruise terminal easier for the group. However, we found very comfortable beds, clean rooms, and a very helpful and friendly staff. The location; a very easy walk to the Shinjuku train station/shopping/food was a major bonus. The myriad of eating choices (mostly...

We stayed at Nishi Shinjuku Hotel Mystays for four nights and really enjoyed it. The hotel is located in a quiet street close to Shinjuku station. There are many restaurants and shops nearby. Our room was small and clean. It provided everything you need (except space, of course). The staff were friendly, too. All in all, I really can recommend...

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
