We stayed in this hotel for three nights, which is conveniently situated close to Shinjuku. The hotel is clean, the staff friendly and the rooms are very small. There is very little space to keep your belongings. We had to keep all our belongings packed in our suitcases while staying here. But the room had no view at all. The...

This is a relatively new hotel in Tokyo (about 1 year old). We were mainly in Tokyo, Japan for shopping and food. So we decided to stay cheap. This hotel is a so-called business hotel in Japan. The characteristics of business hotel are: basic, convenient, close to amenities and train stations, inexpensive, and small rooms. This fits the bill very well....

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.

“Get rooms from higher floors. If you are placed on the 4th floor, you won't see anything outside the windows”

“Get a room with 2 beds. Everything there is smaller. This room made it a lot larger.”

“There are different sized rooms, ask if you are getting a compact room when you book.”
AussiesX5, 13 Apr 2014 | Read review
“Not sure if this is only the case when booking singles, but the bathroom has a clear glass door and a picture window overlooking the sleeping area. Odd I know, but I think otherwise the room would likely feel very claustrophobic. This little architectural nuance could prove problematic if you are on a budget and sharing with someone with whom you are not intimate.”
