Ikebukuro isn't exactly in the center of things- and this hotel is on a sort of dark, deserted-looking street- but it's clean and not too expensive. The bathroom is like it's on a ship- so so tiny. The front desk folks are really nice- The room is REALLY small, so for two people it might be tight. I was alone...

Quite affordable and excellent customer service. Their English was very good and the staff were all more than helpful. The room was a good size and the shower had fantastic pressure. I would definitely stay here again. The free wifi was great too, as well as the free toothbrush, shampoo, moisturisers etc.

Having visited Tokyo before several years ago, I knew that hotel rooms could be painfully small and cramped. This time, I took pains to search for and book a room that was a bit bigger so that my husband and I would be comfortable and not on top of each other! Hotel Mystays is a reputable chain, so I booked...

Stayed for 10 nights. Very reasonably priced for Tokyo. Rooms were very clean, however they do not have cleaners to tidy your room while you stay, which we didnt mind at all. Rooms were reasonably sized for what you pay, bathroom was compact but water pressure in the shower was great. We were lucky and got the top floor which...

It's close to JR Ostuka station, about 6-9 mins walk. Being an Yamamote line it's very convenient to the popular areas - harajuku, Shinjuku, shibuya...etc. Close to 6-7 24HR eateries & 4-5 convenient stores! You won't go hungry for sure! My only complaint of these hotel is the toilet. It's quite painful for the aged to climb one big step...

The room was tiny as expected but was still very functional and met our needs. It was very clean which is the most important. Location was also quite good, was within 10 minutes walking distance from 4 jr/metro stations plus the team.. There is a 7/11 right opposite and 24 hour mini department stores down the road. They lend you...

Location and transportation: 10 mins walking distance from otsuka station (medium pace). Otsuka station is in yamanote line. There's also a tram between the hotel and station (2 mins walk from the hotel) Its about ¥170 I think. only 1 stop between the station and the hotel, but its very useful if u are tired as the walk from Otsuka...

I understand perfectly one cannot expect much amenities or space when value trumps those considerations. However,it's an entirely different thing when one literally misstep may possibly cause you grave injuries especially for the older, physically challenged guests. I'm talking about the bathroom the design of which is downright strange and dangerous. OK,it's really tight even for a 120 lbs Asian woman....

My experience at Hotel Mystays was pretty much in line with that of other reviews that I read before my visit. The rooms are small and neat with a small kitchenette. The bed was very comfortable and the A/C was great, at least after I got an English set of instructions. Neighborhood noise on the tenth floor was minimal. As...

Neighbourhood Profile
Ikebukuro
Ikebukuro is an area of massive development. Several thousand tenants occupy two giant department stores and shopping malls, where all sorts of shopping and gourmet foods can be enjoyed. The 60-story building at the east entrance of the station, Sunshine City, is a landmark within Ikebukuro and features an aquarium, planetarium, theme park as well as an observation platform. The popular name for the western side of this area is "Otome Road" (Maiden Road) and there are many shops selling products related to anime with a female theme. It has rapidly become the worldwide headquarters for ‘otaku’ or geek culture.
