Staying at Family Inn Saiko was a great choice! The staff were friendly, the room was clean, and it is located near many restaurants, shops, and grocery stores. Their shower pressure and aircon was fantastic after returning from a long day. Also, I highly recommend booking their free kimono fitting with oba-san, as it was one of the highlights of...

While it's not located right in the heart of downtown Tokyo, it's only a short walk subway away from all the best Tokyo has to offer. In fact, being away from the centre means it is much quieter at night. The hosts are incredibly helpful, often staying beyond their working hours to give advice and help plan your trip. The...

We had an extremely positive experience at the Family Inn Saiko. We were running behind schedule and did not get in until a couple of hours after originally planned. I emailed on short notice about the delay, and got a response almost immediately. The directions provided for getting to the hotel were extremely helpful and finding it from Shiinamachi Station...

For my 50th birthday I decided to go somewhere I was unaccustomed to—so with that decided, my family tagged along with me as I began my Japan trip. The initial reason why I chose the Family Inn Saiko for our stay was because of the great reviews and the affordable price. I did not expect it to live up to...

We stayed here for one night when we arrived in Tokyo, and before heading down to Kyoto the next day. The staff were exceptional, and the location was convenient to the JR Ikebukuro station. The room was clean and the mats were very comfortable to sleep on. Breakfast was fine, toast with peanut butter and a selection of jams. We...

We went as a couple for four nights to Family Inn Saiko in July 2015. This was a wonderful introduction to Tokyo for us - good air conditioning, comfortable futons on tatami mats and a relaxing bath on the top floor. There were a lot of unknowns for us as this was our first trip to Japan but staying at...

Close to Ikebukuro, my favourite hub in Tokyo. The staff is a family, and the are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very good with tatami mats and nice bathrooms (we have visited several times, and tried many of their rooms). You sleep on comfertable futon beds. The area around consists of local's homes, small shops, schools, and, closer...

This is a lovely traditional Japanese Inn, known as a ryokan. Features include tatami (rice straw mats) on the floors and futon beds. Our room was very clean and the futons were comfortable. The room is small but their is a futon closet where your bed can be neatly stored if you want to clear some floor space. You are...

Saiko Family Inn has become our main base for visiting Tokyo. It is located in walking distance (20-ish mins) or train distance (about $1, total 8-15 minutes) from Ikebukuro, which I guess you could call one of 4-5 main city hubs in Tokyo city. Being a central hub in Tokyo, Ikebukuro has more or less everything. Several giant shopping malls,...
