During my stay with a friend (Actually during 2008, not 2009) we were very welcomed to the hotel, arriving by limousine bus from Narita airport, our bags were quickly seen to by staff. Unfortunately, we couldn't check in until 3pm (We had arrived about midday) but this didn't bother me as we could have a look around the local area....

Metropolitan hotel is very good choice to stay in Tokyo by his price. It has Narita shuttle bus (not very cheap - 3000 yen), 5-7 minutes by walk to metro station, 2 big super-store is in walking distance. Check-in time is 14.00, and we weren't allowed to check-in earlier. Standart Room is quite big, king-size bed doesn't produce any sounds;...

We stayed for 3 nights in both the standard and deluxe rooms. Paying for the upgrade is worth it, as the standard rooms are worn and ready to retire. Many reviews stated the hotel was far from all of the exciting districts, but we found it to be very convenient and no more than 15 minutes away from central tokyo....i...

We chose this hotel after studying the reviews on TripAdvisor and pricewise it fitted into our budget. We arrived on a cold day but the lobby was warm and cheerful. They are particular about the timing of check in but we received information from their staff about places we wanted to see during the time while we were waiting in...

Stayed here after a tour with two friends for 2 nights in April 2010. We took the Airport Limousine from Narita and it arrived right at the doorstep of the hotel. The bellboy came out right away to help us with our luggage and showed us to the reception. We were greeted by the friendly receptionist who informed us that...

OK I am a little harsh here , but inflexible hotels kill me especially after 10 hour flights. I have never arrived early to a hotel and been told that even if my room is ready and free that i can not go in, but must instead wait till 2 pm or pay $30 per hour . What horrible customer...

Stayed for 3 nights. The first room we booked was an economy type room. The room was on the first floor (no view), was really old, small, cheap furniture and bad mattress- in fact we couldn't sleep. Next day we paid a little extra (something like $20) for an upgraded room on the 19th floor. It was better- same room...

Nothing is cheap in Tokyo, and rooms on the 24th floor of this hotel certainly aren't, but I wanted to make sure I got a quality room. And that's what I did get, a double on the Metropolitan floor, non-smoking (I made sure I got this confirmed beforehand by email) and with all the amenities you would expect. The bed...

Of course, depending on your meetings location, Ikebukuro might not be the best choice. But if it is, then Metropolitan is a nice place to stay. Rooms are well-furnished and clean with nice views on the cities. depending on the kind of rooms, they will be smaller or bigger. The breakfast is very good altoough it may be difficult to...

Stayed 5 nights in a 23 m twin room. Although bathroon and room were quite small, the pluses exceed the negatives overall - excellent housekeeping, clean rooms, everything works as expected and 5 nights of uninterrupted sleep, what more could I want? Location was excellent. The limousine bus connects you to an from Narita and the JR/subway Ikebukuro station, which...

Ikebukuro
Ikebukuro is an area of massive development. Several thousand tenants occupy two giant department stores and shopping malls, where all sorts of shopping and gourmet foods can be enjoyed. The 60-story building at the east entrance of the station, Sunshine City, is a landmark within Ikebukuro and features an aquarium, planetarium, theme park as well as an observation platform. The popular name for the western side of this area is "Otome Road" (Maiden Road) and there are many shops selling products related to anime with a female theme. It has rapidly become the worldwide headquarters for ‘otaku’ or geek culture.
