I know it was probably not expensive but I get it as a bundle stay in 3 different locations and this one was the worse one. Hotel looks very cheap and it is what you paying for. Bunk beds are not my choice, rooms are tiny, bathroom even smaller. Ikebukuro is busy ant night, a lot of restaurants but it's... More

Compact room clean and comfortable bed. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great location with 5mins walk to train station. Walking distance to eateries and shopping mall nearby. Vibrant location with people going there for happy hours in many bars and cafes.

I stayed in Sakura hotel for 3 nights, the room is a little bit tiny but acceptable, findind foods to eat is very easy and a number of convenient stores is also near by, breakfast is not really good but you can have others outside.. Room was clean and staffs are polite and helpful, nice to stay here overall :)

An excellent base for any Tokyo-heavy holiday, Sakura Hotel is cheap, cheerful and full of friendly staff. We stayed for 3 weeks while in a big group, and it was an excellent place to start the day with some ¥350 soup and toast. There's good deals for booking multiple weeks, and it was affordable enough that we used it as... More

Very friendly and helpful staff. Storing your luggage and hanging out at the reception is not a problem after check-out. We had some confusion, but the staff handled it in the best possible way! Highly recommended place to stay.

The main reason to pick this hotel is the location, you need to walk less than 10 minutes. The price is affordable since its strategic location on yamanote line. I booked tatami room for 4, the bathroom is quite small, bedroom and lounge is ok.

The hotel seem pretty decent om our booking website, but when arriving at the hotel, the service employees did not seem as nice as our other hotels that we stayed at in Japan. They dont greet you when you come in or leave the hotel. Even tough your the only one and there not busy. Second, the room had a... More

This hotel was very close to the Ikebukuro station and a very easy walk to remember as to not get lost. Nearby are lots of different restaurants which light up beautifully on a night! Being our first time in Japan, we didn't know what to expect with our hotel room, but it was definitely suitable for us. Would definitely stay... More

Staying in Ikebukuro

Neighbourhood Profile
Ikebukuro
Ikebukuro is an area of massive development. Several thousand tenants occupy two giant department stores and shopping malls, where all sorts of shopping and gourmet foods can be enjoyed. The 60-story building at the east entrance of the station, Sunshine City, is a landmark within Ikebukuro and features an aquarium, planetarium, theme park as well as an observation platform. The popular name for the western side of this area is "Otome Road" (Maiden Road) and there are many shops selling products related to anime with a female theme. It has rapidly become the worldwide headquarters for ‘otaku’ or geek culture.
