The rooms are small but clean and the hotel is close to the train station. It also has amenities like washing and drying machines (100 yen coins). The staff is very helpful. There is free Internet access in the room.

I've stayed in Toyoko Inn 2. This hotel is about few minutes walk to the subway. However, the location is rather difficult to find. There are Toyoko Inn 1 and Toyoko Inn 2. Both on diffennt locations nearby. Toyoko Inn 1 have better service receptions. The room is very cramp with only a small walking space. Haha, you have to...

Toyoko Inn business hotels are my go-to choice whenever I travel around Japan. I almost always had satisfactory experience even in Tokyo, where hotel staff would have a higher tendency to be jaded from meeting more foreigners than staff in other prefectures. That was why we were so taken aback by the rude service we received during our stay at...

This is always my choice of hotel whenever I went to Tokyo. It is a few minutes walk from the station and there are plenty of convenience stores, shopping malls and restaurants all within a few minutes walk. Room rate also comes with free breakfast and WiFi. Breakfast is simple but very delicious. Room is small but there are spaces...

We stayed twice at Toyoko Inn Ikebukuro No. 1 - May 2010 & May 2013. It's about 10 mins walk from the Ikebukuro Station. It's very convenient to many stores/shops/restaurants, especially for those who are traveling from/to Narita Airport via NEX. Like most rooms in Tokyo, the room is small but the bed is comfortable - we had the Queen...

Small rooms. Busy hotel. Fee wifi. Discount available for club members. Flexible rates during the week. Restaurant will be open after 7 am. So getting breakfast if you have morning flight will be difficult.

Good value for money - excellent location, walking distance to JR station and subway. Japanese breakfast gives you a touch of the Japanese culture. Staff with very limited English but very friendly. Extremely clean, spotless I would say.

As with most business hotels in Tokyo, you're not expecting large rooms. Very near to the train station. Queen size bed at a very reasonable price around these parts and sufficient space for modestly sized luggage. Comfortable, well-lit and quiet. Bathroom was incredible - it was tiny but still had a sink, toilet and shower-bath - how did they fit...

This is my first choice everytime I am in Tokyo. My last stay was three years back and I m here again this week. Great location....close to the Ikebukuro subway north exit, lots of food outlets around, good places to shop in the vicinity, easy access to other parts of Tokyo. Room is basic but comfortable (this time round, there...

Small rooms, but friendly staff, location is convenient, close to the Ikebukuro Station, and lots of dining and pachinko possibilities in the area too. They provide japanese breakfast which was not too much to our taste but helps to start the day.

Neighbourhood Profile
Ikebukuro
Ikebukuro is an area of massive development. Several thousand tenants occupy two giant department stores and shopping malls, where all sorts of shopping and gourmet foods can be enjoyed. The 60-story building at the east entrance of the station, Sunshine City, is a landmark within Ikebukuro and features an aquarium, planetarium, theme park as well as an observation platform. The popular name for the western side of this area is "Otome Road" (Maiden Road) and there are many shops selling products related to anime with a female theme. It has rapidly become the worldwide headquarters for ‘otaku’ or geek culture.
