The hotel is at heart of ueno where you can access to everything conveniently. I went at sakrua season and it is very convenient for me to get to ueno park either morning or night time to enjoy the sakura. The hotel room is good and comfortable. Room size and noise insulation is good despite the low room rate. The...

We only stayed there fro 1 night, hotel located less than 5 minutes walk from JR Ueno station or less than 10 minutes walk from Keisei Ueno Station. Price is cheap so great for budget traveller who don't want to share toilet in hostel. Room is reasonable spacious and clean even though it does look a bit ages. only minute...

Its location is at the center of the city. You can enjoy shopping while having some great place for food right in front of the hotel. Also, the hotel is only 10 mins away from the train station on foot. So, it is very comfortable to get on train to travel around the city and come back to the hotel...

This hotel was recommended by a friend who stayed here before. And I am glad that make the right choice to choose of this hotel as our base during our stay in Tokyo. We traveled with 2A+2C and it is quite difficult to find the hotel room can accommodate 4 persons in Tokyo. In this hotel, we got a Japanese...

I booked this hotel because it's near the places I want to go to; in a market where I can try local food and shop without straining my budget; and near the train stations (about 5-minute walk) One downside is that it's probably a little difficult to find (Tokyo addresses are confusing if you're a tourist I suppose). I suggest...

The hotel is located near JR ueno, metro and keisei ueno. It was easy to get meal and shopping. But the hotel had very bad smoking room, very bad smell like you are smoking. There was smoke stained at the ceiling and wall. The hotel staffs were poor english speaker, difficult to communicate. At this time I were here, they...

Good location that is near JR, Metro, and Keisei and there are many restaurants around the hotel. Before we came to this hotel, we were worried about smell because they don't have non smoking room but when we stayed there, there is no any problem about smell in the room. The room is little bit small for 3 people (we...

This is a fantastic Hotel in a great location. We stayed there twice ad I would go back again. The Hotel is situated a 5 min. walk from the JR station and there are lots of restaurants right outside the Hotel. The room and bathroom where small, but most Japanese rooms are. This hotel is interesting because very close to the JR and metro station. Very useful because you can get the trains for Narita airport in 5 minutes walk. Rooms are not spatious, and the bathroom very very small, but this is tipical of Tokyo hotels. The rooms are not very silent: you can hear the noise coming from the street....

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
