The hotel tucks in a corner from the main street not far from the nearer subway Inaricho station, and it is a short walk from the main Ueno station. Arm with a google map will be a good idea especially during winter. Hotel staff weren't too friendly and conversed well in English like most Japanese hotels. The hotel isn't great...

For those who bought the Japan Rail pass , the nearest station this is located is Inaricho. Which is not covered by the Japan rail pass. You have to alight at Ueno and go to the subway to Inaricho and get a ticket. Or you can always walk to the hotel from Ueno station. It's not near or very far...

The hotel is near Inaricho station - about 3 mins walk. On the way, there are some convenient stores and small restaurants. It is about 10 mins from Ueno Station...

This hotel is priced right. Staff were friendly, helpful and spoke English. There are some Izakayas close by to have a beer at (That's important for me). Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
