I stayed here to be close to the station for an early morning train to Hokkaido. The map shown in expedia is wrong and its actually a couple of blocks closer to Ueno station. The street is a busy bar and restaurant area. Staff speak basic english. This is a mens only hotel. There are different capsule types on different... More

My friend and I, each of us, paid 3,800 yen for the capsule today, although it was written 3,000 as promotional price, only to find out lager but the admin staff made no effort to clarify. Due to the language difficulty, I forgot about it. Next, we booked that capsule but only to find out that it was too improper... More

The staff are all very friendly and most speak good English. The hotel has plenty of good amenities and the spa and sauna are great. They provide all of your toiletries, too. The location in Ueno is awesome - just a block from the Airport Skyliner station; a 40 minute trip. The capsule was big enough for me, a 6'2"... More

At the tail-end of my trip to Japan, this was the accommodation that I anticipated with mild anxiety, based mainly on the idea that sleeping in such close proximity to others would be bothersome. My concerns were largely unfounded. Certainly, hearing others snore is a drag, but the overall experience was terrific. The brown uniform (that must be worn at... More

Cheap capsule hotel in the heart of ueno. It was easily access by JR, metro and keisei train. The staff was nice and friendly. The capsule was clean and nice. You could find cheap restuarent and night life activity around the hotel.

The most economic capsule hotel located in the good spot near Ueno park and JR. Good public bath. But the smoke from the smoking floors go up the the non-smoking floor. I have to sleep with the tobacco smoke all night. The worst sleeping experience. Porn Movie channel also available for free.

Stayed here both for the price and the novelty of staying in a capsule hotel. It is a quick 5 minute walk from Ueno station, with great restaurants all around and it is right next door to a huge pachinko parlor. Upon entering the lobby, you remove your shoes and place them into a small shoe locker. You can then... More

If your not a smoker, don't stay here. I was coughing with a scratchy throat the whole time. There is no separation between the smoking and non smoking areas so obviously the smoke goes everywhere. They have an enclosed smoking area but you can still smoke in the open lounge area's so it's completely pointless. Smoke aside, I have stayed... More

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
