Definitely, I strongly recommend this hostel if you wanna spend some days in Tokyo, This place has a pretty good facilities, rooms are so comfortable, the living room is a nice place to rest, the hostel location is perfect to travel around Tokyo (good comunication with subway) and for me the most important point is the kindness and joy of...

The hostel was comfortable and clean overall. The bathroom was a bit small but since I'm relatively small it wasn't an issue. If you are any bigger than the average (Australian), then you might need to squeeze your way in. Having said that, couple of my friends who are bigger than me managed fine. The best bit was the staff...

Asakusa is undoubtedly the best location for backpackers in Tokyo. It's close to train stations (not JR though, so buy a Tokyo subway pass!) and close to a major shrine as well. My wife and I had booked a 4 bed dorm but were upgraded to a private room on the 4th floor, and it's one of the most spacious...

This hostel is not close to a JR station, so if you have the JR pass just be aware that you will need to purchase additional metro tickets to get close. However, it is in a very nice part of Tokyo, with attractions and restaurants, close to a Tokyo metro station. Not the cleanest hostel I've ever stayed in, but...

Great location, right near Senso-ji shrine. Staff are very friendly and seem genuinely interested and enthusiastic. Lounge is quite social but is a separate room from the entrance. Rooms are fine, have lockers and ensuite. Great 24 hour sushi place just around the corner.

Nice place in the middle of Asakusa( a lot of things to see there) and near the river, perfect position. Staff very friendly and helpful and the room very clean. The shared living room/kitchen is very nice with cable tv and some videogames. Great time!

The staff were very friendly and I was lucky enough to be able to check in early as my room was already fixed up (I was just going to drop off my bag). They were able to provide recommendations for food and transport around the area. The bedroom was very clean and had a super cute bridge over stones in...

My title says it all. Location is great because its right next to the Sensoji Temple, which is one of the most popular sight seeing spots in Asakusa. Very close to a market, places to eat, lots of sight seeing. Now with the hostel, can't say good things about this place, very clean and tidy. The staff is incredible, I...

Easily one of the best hostels I stayed in during my month long trip to Japan. All of the facilities were great - great kitchen/dining/living room area with a television and selection of movies. Dorm rooms were a good size and LOVED that they had their own bathroom/shower. Only downside is that, as a solo traveler, I found it slightly...

The wife and I booked this place late for our visit during peak season in late March to early April and it was a great value. The room, bathroom, and commons area are clean and inviting and the staff are great as well! We stayed for 2 night but it was a great location to check out the nearby Asakusa...

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
