Great staff, extremely welcoming and this hostel has already thought of what you'll need to know when you go tiki-touring around. They have directions/tips printed out so it's ready for you to take with you on your travels. Extremely easy to get to via train. Just hop on an express to Asakusa stn from Narita airport and then hostel is...

I spent three nights at this hostel. It is a average hostel which doesn't offer anything extra for guests, which is not a problem, nevertheless I didn't find pleasent the fact that there's no ventilation at all in any part of the building. Taking in consideration that in Japan is traditional to take off your shoes when you are indoors,...

First time staying in a hostel and I was very impressed. Everybody was welcoming and very helpful. Everything was clean and the common room was good for chatting with the staff and the rest of the guests. The internet connection could be better from the bedrooms but this was not a problem from the common room and they also have...

To put it simply, I think my trip to Tokyo would not have been the same, had I not stayed here! I came to Tokyo alone, but ended up spending every day with other guests staying at the hostel. Just go to the common room in the morning, have some coffee (for free) and chat with other guests. I'm sure...

I had lots of fun in Asakusa,Tokyo. Great city, good food, excellent services. I stayed there for a week. The location is really good. It's near train station, supermarket, and restaurants. The staffs were the best. Their english are very good and they give you recommendation of places that you should visit.

Great location and great staffs. I was staying there in the middle of Jul 2015 and they gave us good recomendation of places in Tokyo and they complete our trip with smile. Just one thing I didn't like, the wifi signal was unstable and not fully covered. But that was okay still for me. The rest were perfect. I would...

I lived in Japan for two years and then visited for two weeks last year, when I stayed here. While living in Japan, I stayed in many hostels on my travels, all of them good, and this one is the best! The staff are the nicest, most accommodating people ever and will greet you with a big smile. We got...

The staff at Khaosan Kabuki are some of the nicest people ever! To start off, I had a late check-in because of my late flight to Tokyo and because reception closes at 10pm the staff had every thing ready for me upon my arrival. And prior to my trip they had sent me all sorts of information on how to...

I had wonderful time here, thank you! Great atmosphere and good facilities, very close by Ginza and Asakusa metro lines. Asakusa is a bit touristy during the day (sensoji temple) but in the night time a great place to stay. Hostel is new, clean and safe.

The place was clean and staff was friendly. I didn't stay long enough to give a more thorough review. I checked in later than what I had mentioned and didn't have any issues. It is a bit hard to find because everything in the area looks similar. I didn't even know the large temple was less than five minutes from...

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
