The hotel is very near the subway station (Asakusabashi of the Toei Asakusa Line) which is around 3 mins walk. It takes an hour from Narita Airport to the hotel through the Narita Sky Access Line and costs 1280 yen one-way using Pasmo card. Pasmo card can be purchased from the ticket machines at the lower ground/railway airport terminal 2...

Stayed 3 nights at Toyoko inn Akiba Asakusaeki higashiguchi. It is a basic but clean place. pros : Located on the main road, restaurants, a seven eleven & bus stop near by. Very Clean. Serves breakfast. Cons : Rooms are small, no restaurant in the hotel, they are short of service staff. For everything you have to personally come down...

Very near the metro station. If you carry a large luggage, walk through A1-A3 gate by elevator. We book a four-people room at ninth floor. The room space is larger than we can expect. Large beds, sofa, table and a lot of space for your luggage. Although the bathroom is small, it can be acceptable in Tokyo. There are two...

If you're on a budget and wanna stay close to the city this is the hotel to stay but the thing is, they have poor customer service, snobbish staff but courteous, but overall experience, good and so so. Though peaceful and quiet. Location wasn't bad because it's close to the metro (asakusa-bashi station) though you have to walk a bit...

I'm a big fan of the Toyoko Inn chain of hotels. We stayed at the Toyoko Inn Kabuki-cho (over on the west side of Tokyo in Shinjuku) in 2010, so for this trip I thought we should stay on the eastern side of Tokyo to be closer to districts like Akihabara and Asakusa. We arrived a day earlier than we...

We stayed in a room for four but we were only three, my son occupied one double bed and my daughter and I occupied the other double bed. It was very comfortable staying here. I would recommend this to other tourists who wish visit Tokyo. Very Nice, clean and new.

Rooms are small but value for money. Very clean.  Service is good and food is nice although there are not many choices.  Reception staffs speak very little English. Transportations: 2 minutes walk to TOEI Asakusabashi Station Exit A6 but no escalator.  5 minutes walk to the same station Exit A3, there are escalators here. The same distance for JR Asakusabashi Station...

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
