I recommend this hotel for: Location, View and breakfast. Stayed 4 nights, in a deluxe room with two large beds in the 19th floor with an awesome view of the SKY Tree Tower, and from the breakfast room at 26th floor in clear early morning days, you can catch a beautiful view of the Fuji. The room was spacious, comfortable,...

We booked this hotel with Booking.com. It was the first time we had used Booking.com so we were a bit nervous but it all worked out fine. It was also our cheapest stay per night during our holiday in Japan, but definitely our most luxurious accommodation. We were on the 20th floor with a view of the Tokyo sky tower...

I have stayed in this hotel with my family for 4 nights but I am very dissatisfied with two things: the dirty bed sheets and triple room requirements. First, the bed sheet is stained with drops of dried blood and cigarette burn marks. Second, we paid for a room with triple beds, not a double room with extra beds. Despite...

The room was nice and clean, also enough spacious. It was well cleaned every day. The bathroom had everything needed: shampoo, coton swabs, etc... The only bad point I noticed when I stayed, was the english level of the staff. They don't even speak as good as some traditional restaurants' staff. It was really difficult to ask something, I had...

Stayed there from March 10-13, 2015. Did NOT ask for a view room but the view was alright - I believe it look towards Ueno from my room and not much of a view at all. Check in process was very business like and more like mechanical. We took our luggage to our room so I suppose there is no...

From the moment we arrived we knew we had made a mistake. It wasn't just the customer service though; Who has EVER paid to swim in a hotel pool? Try $30 a pop!!! THEN.....want a drink in the bar? $16 surcharge!!!! The rooms were so heated that no-one could sleep .... I could go on . but in the main...

Stayed here for 4 nights. As an introduction to Tokyo it can't be bettered. The room had a great view of the Skytree and Sensi-jo. No cupboards or shelves and the bathroom was bijou, but the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast is an adventure with an orderly queue each morning and a vast choice. Everything from omelettes and French toast...

This hotel was a welcome mat for our first visit to Tokyo! Traveling with an 8 year old, our room had 3 single beds on the 15th floor w/ a view of the Sky Tree tower. Clean, quiet and nice amenities...hot water pot with tea & coffee, great bathroom. Felt like it was a value for the price. The neighborhood...

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
