Top choice! This is an elegant boutique hotel in the buzzling part of Tokyol Close to Kaminarimon and all public transport access. This hotel is in Asakusa, the older part of Tokyo, which is ideal for people who wants the cultural part of Tokyo rather than modernised suburb. There are lots good eatery close by, dont be fooled by its...

This hotel would be fine if you were travelling with 2 people. We booked an E room for 2 adults and a child and could barely move. There was no where to put bags and an oversized bathroom took space from the room. We don't think the hotel should book these rooms for 3 people - they just don't fit....

We chose this hotel because of its location in the old part of Tokyo - perfect for a low-key introduction to the city for our family of five. The hotel was perfect - stunning views from reception, lovely, spacious rooms (well priced for Tokyo), very comfortable beds, excellent email communications. Couple of minutes walk from historic part of Tokyo, fascinating...

Enjoyed our stay in an essential twin room with views of the Tokyo Skytree. Modern, compact and clean with comfortable beds. Bathroom was unexpectedly spacious, which was great! Staff were professional and well-presented. From Narita airport, we caught the Skyliner train to Ueno station, then a short taxi ride (900 yen) to hotel. Location is very convenient and safe, within...

Fantastic location. Most comfortable beds I've slept in at a hotel. Fabulous PJ's (my husband purchased a pair to take home) Lots of really good places to eat nearby - we were a bit spoilt as our son speaks Japanese so we braved places we probably otherwise wouldn't have found - be brave and trust the signs! Hotel staff are...

'You are staying at Asakusa?' is the incredulous response I get from Japanese business colleagues. Normally on business you stay in the city centre generally in tiny functional rooms three minutes from the office. 'Well, yes' I reply. I am in a traditional part of the City In a hotel situated opposite beautiful temples with unparalleled views from its lobby...

Our accommodation for our last night in Japan. Typical good hotel, friendly attentive staff, comfortable with all the amenities you'd expect. Bar and restaurant open twenty four hours. About five minute walk, with suitcases to station for train direct to Narita.

i stayed at this hotel for two nights compare to the view they have at their lobby, room didn't have quite good view. bed was ok but the room smell wasn't very good. felt kind of stuffing while staying the room. the good thing about this hotel is that their lobby is pretty and pretty hall way and card-secured floor...

All the service facilities are very good, but the special price of a little higher corner house does not see the sky tower, a little disappointed. Next time will stay will choose parity room, because the relationship between privacy can not pull the curtains.

Serious hard to fault this place for a tourist stay in Tokyo. Incredible access, with the subway station of Asakusa only a couple minutes walk away and literally right across the road from the entrance to the Sensoji temple area. Heaps of options for eating, shopping and sight seeing. The room was very spacious (for Japan), and had very luxurious...

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
