This hotel is close to the subway station (pls note the nearest station has no escalators, not very convenient to the travellers with luggage), one station away to JR station Ueno. Several convenient stores nearby, and close to the tourist spot Asakusa. So the location of the hotel is quite good with this price. The room is small (but same...

This was just a short 2 night stay in our Japan trip and the location was excellent! The hotel is literally meters away from Tawaramachi subway station and 10 minutes from Asakusa station. It is also a short walk away from the Asakusa temple and main area, where is full of restaurants and stores. Rooms are small but nice and...

I enjoyed my stay in this hotel very much! It is in beautiful Asakusa, in the eastern part of Tokyo. It is about 15 minutes away from Asakusa station, but there is a subway station like 2 minutes away. The location is nice and the hotel's renovations are modern. As a solo traveler, the small room was a perfect place...

Every day I ventured into different part of Tokyo to get to know the city and its surrounding. It was very easy get everywhere from this very convenient place. Also hotel staff provided maps, brochures and descriptive guidance what to see and how to get there.

I had a good stay in the Agora Place hotel. I took a single room which for the price was an excellent size. It had everything I needed and the room was clean. The bed was very comfortable! It is really close to the metro station, or you can walk to Ueno station in about 20 minutes, as long as...

I've stayed here once before when they renovated the property and got a great rate. Things were pretty much the same except this time there was an issue with the AC in the room. Even though I had it at high, you could barely tell it was on. I spoke to the front desk and they actually suggested I open...

This is not the Mandarin Orient, Ritz Carlton, or any other high end hotel. But I have stayed in worse places but none better. My favorite place to stay is the Radisson in Manchester, NH and this place blows it out of the water. Maybe it is the charm of a foreign land, or maybe I am just not that...

Toilet cleanliness 6 out of 10 rating, room comfort level was 7 out of 10. We were there on the last week of March for spring, thankfully the air was cooling because the rooms have no air-conditioning or fan, you can just opt to open the small gap in the window. We were very thankful that we were able to...

The hotel claimed it was open in 2012 but some bathrooms definitely looked like more than 20 years old. First room i was given has cracked bathroom worktop. The crack has been there long enough and has turn brown. There was black dirt around all three rim of the bathtub. It came with bathtub instead of shower shown in the...

Agora Place Asakusa is a well located hotel if you're travelling around Tokyo. Located right on the Ginza line it's really easy to make your way around the place. The rooms are really small, but you're not staying in Tokyo to live in the room are you? They're large enough to fit you and all your belongings and to serve...

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
