Modern and trendy hotel 2 blocks away from the subway Tawaramachi station (stairs only). This hotel is in the Asakusa area. The room was small, but immaculate. The bathroom, also small, with a modern toilet and very tiny sink. Sleeping attire is provided. The room is modern in design. Breakfast is from 0700-0930, pastries, salads, rice, omelets and drinks. Same...

Spent two nights here in a small double room. The location is great, being so close to Tawaramachi subway on the Ginza line so easy to get anywhere in Tokyo. The room itself was indeed small but was spotlessly clean, with a modern design, tv with Japanese channels, free wifi, comfy bed - it really had everything needed including toiletries,...

Loved this place for its location. Less than 2 mins walk to the train station. Can never go wrong with that. Room is a little small but that's what u get from most Japanese hotels anyway. Toilet is great, bed is great. Absolutely no complaints. Will definitely recommend to other people.

Good location, friendly staff, would happily stay again. 50 meters to the subway and a short walk to the big main temple. Room was very clean, modern design and bed very comfy after long days walking. Although the room is basic but you can buy and/or rent amenities and products from the reception.

This hotel is close to the subway station (pls note the nearest station has no escalators, not very convenient to the travellers with luggage), one station away to JR station Ueno. Several convenient stores nearby, and close to the tourist spot Asakusa. So the location of the hotel is quite good with this price. The room is small (but same...

This was just a short 2 night stay in our Japan trip and the location was excellent! The hotel is literally meters away from Tawaramachi subway station and 10 minutes from Asakusa station. It is also a short walk away from the Asakusa temple and main area, where is full of restaurants and stores. Rooms are small but nice and...

I enjoyed my stay in this hotel very much! It is in beautiful Asakusa, in the eastern part of Tokyo. It is about 15 minutes away from Asakusa station, but there is a subway station like 2 minutes away. The location is nice and the hotel's renovations are modern. As a solo traveler, the small room was a perfect place...

Every day I ventured into different part of Tokyo to get to know the city and its surrounding. It was very easy get everywhere from this very convenient place. Also hotel staff provided maps, brochures and descriptive guidance what to see and how to get there.

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
