Georgian farmhouse with 'self-service' B&B and outdoor heated pool in summer (June, July and August). Sorry, the WiFi isn't high speed (we are two miles from the nearest high speed box) but it's perfectly adequate, and in compensation you get dark skies at night and birdsong in the mornings!

We stayed at Clanville Manor in July 2017 with our 2 young girls who both have varying degrees of autism. Clanville Manor is the first place I have actually felt relaxed in years. It's such a beautiful setting and very safe for children because Sally is 100% on the ball when it

We stayed at Lone Oak Cottage for a week in July. Not the driest of weeks it has to be said, but that didn't stop us. We even managed to make use of the outdoor pool at Clanville Manor one day in between the showers. The cottage is lovely. It really felt cosy and welcoming

Sally welcomed us on arrival. The cottage is exceptionally spacious, clean and homely. A fresh baked cake was a nice thought and very tasty. The outside space is a bonus, with a good selection of garden furniture. Great gor bbq. If you're thinkìng of staying in this area you

Just completed a weeks stay at The Tallot. We had a great stay with our young family; two boys 4yo & 18mths. There is a sensational play area which made my boys very happy and an absolute bonus was the warm pool. This is the first place I've ever been I didn't have to run about

Thank you Kylie. I'm so glad that you enjoyed your family holiday here! It was great to have you as neighbours and to share chicken o'clock with your little boy each day! He became very adept at collecting the eggs and mistracting the chickens with their corn treats, didn't he? Now that the pool is open for the summer we look forward to welcoming lots of families to use and enjoy it over the next few months. I hope you may return again to share our little part of Somerset with us.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at Loan Oak cottage in Castle Cary and found the holiday a very mixed experience indeed. The area is wonderful with plenty to do for young children and as a consequence we enjoyed ourselves immensely and have made some very happy memories.

Whilst I am extremely sorry that Nic and her family experienced these problems, they did not at any time let me know during their stay, either when we spoke whilst the children fed the chickens at the farm, nor when I called in to say goodbye, or privately by phone or email after their departure. It was a complete shock to me, therefore, to read this two days after their departure. I am sorry that the cleaning wasn't up to standard; I shall certainly remonstrate with the cleaner who was on duty before their stay and will check her work in future. The carpets and flooring in both my cottages are upgraded on a rolling timetable and there are issues that will be addressed during the next low season. However, I'm upset that this warranted a two star review without allowing me any chance to make good in any way during their stay. Lone Oak had major building work last year making the sitting room and kitchen into one family space room and we are extremely proud of what has been achieved in a basic 1950s bungalow. Many of our guests have complimented us on the transformation, especially those who return several times a year. It's fully booked for the summer season so I sincerely hope that other guests will not take this review at face value and will come here and enjoy their holidays! It would have been useful to know that the shower was blocked during their stay as we had more guests arriving the afternoon after Nic's family's departure. However, I checked last night and it wasn't blocked then, although I treated both shower plug holes. I have thrown away the travel cot and the baby towels and we shall supply normal towels for all children in future and parents will be asked to bring their own travel cot if they need more than one. The washing line will be replaced today. If we have failed to please this family, I hope we shall be able to give the guests during the rest of the year a better experience as we have strived to do for 20 plus years.
