Now I know why the Travel Lodge Great Yarmouth was one of the few hotels with availability. Upon arrival at circa 7pm we were told we needed a time slot for the pre booked breakfast and that only slots before 8am were left. I don’t recall anything about this during booking. The room carpet looked like a dog has lived on it and had never been hoovered. The toilet is about 6 inches tall and blocked immediately we used it and despite asking repeatedly we could not get it addressed. I suppose we got the room for midgets with a dog. The shower is interest in that it fluctuates between hot and cold regardless of where you set it, this could be a fitness feature as you have to jump out of the way when it gets too hot or too cold. Best avoided. My advice would be to spend a little but money and stay somewhere better. How this hotel shows as number one in trip-adviser searches baffles me. We will be avoiding Travel Lodges in the future. I heard somewhere Travel Lodge was going bust I have to say they probably deserve to. The staff are ok as you have to take into consideration they are getting minimum wage and the have had no help during the pandemic except being told to do more work for the same money.

We booked a family room as we have 2 teenagers and a dog, it was huge! There's hardly ever anyone in reception but that's ok, you feel better about coming and going as you please and you can always get hold of someone if you need them. The only thing I would suggest is as the room was so large, some comfortable seating to watch TV in the evening would have been nice.

Nice clean hotel, very good value for money. We ate in the onsite restaurant, food was tasty and well presented. Usual type of menu for Travelodge, but nice all the same. Served by Mick who was friendly and efficient.
