Very nice hotel with exceptional level of service and fantastic breakfast setup (probably the best I've seen for a hotel with superb quality) made this a 5 star rating. Turn down service included. Though not a Park Hyatt in terms of luxury level, this is a great place to base your trip to Tokyo since the Shinagawa station is nearby....

Very nice hotel with very good service. Our bus got us there well before it was time to check in. We were told that as soon as the room was ready they will let us know. In the meantime we could have breakfast and stay at the lounge (this is included in your member status). Just as we had finished...

It seems as though the Marriott Reward Platinum member comments made by a number of other contributors are consistent !! It is so frustrating to check-in late at night and to receive absolutely no Platinum recognition whatsoever. As with others, you are then given what can only be described as a clean, but quite out-dated basic room with a shower...

This is a better than average Marriott, the rooms are well maintained, comfortable and clean. The TV choices are limited and the audio keeps dropping the english and going to Japanese. The internet is extremely slow. But the breakfast is very good.

Hotel was perfect! Less then a mile from the JR Line(10 minute walk) that will take you anywhere in the city. Staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast lounge was the best part of the hotel. Pretty extensive buffet from different regions including an American style breakfast. Overall this is just a classic Marriott, you know what you're going to...

We booked a twin deluxe room for our 7 days stay at Tokyo Marriott. We were tired from our early flight and we were greeted by very polite and accommodating staff. They allowed us to check in early and to our surprise, they upgraded us to a family room. My two kids were so happy to see our clean and...

This hotel is in need of updating... We stayed here after Taipei and the experience at this hotel was so different than at the Taipei Marriott (which was fantastic). The hotel is near Shinagawa Station which is big transit hub. There's a shuttle bus that takes you between the hotel and the station; it runs on a fixed schedule and...

Stayed there 2 nights, room is decent, a bit noisy with the trains passing by. Good room amenities ( Thann) Location wise, this Marriott is a bit remote despite offering a shuttle to Shinagawa Station. Service is where the hotel is faulty I suppose: - Wireless Internet Connection is at best erratic ( could barely keep up signal constantly) -...

As expected, the service and ambiance are wonderful. The room was thoughtfully, and classically appointed. Lovely Japanese china for in-room coffee and tea service, beautifully appointed living and seating areas, extended amenities in the bathroom. I greatly enjoyed in-room and in-hotel experience. The executive lounge was conveniently located on the lobby level, with a door connecting to the main restaurant,...

Staying in Shinagawa / Gotanda

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinagawa / Gotanda
In Shinagawa, an office district shares space with luxury residential buildings and the scene is constantly changing with rapid development. Ikedayama park and Togoshi park are great places to see beautiful traditional Japanese gardens with ponds, as well as enjoy the changing seasons. Shinagawa was a post and a port town during the Edo era and the lavish old Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples at Shinagawa and Ebara are very popular. It's a great place to get in touch with the old Edo atmosphere on a pleasure boat cruising along the canal. The neighboring area around Gotanda station is a study in modern contrasts filled with unique restaurants and a lively nightlife.
