Great location, 4 mins walk to the train station, have super market and restaurants along the area. For the price that we paid, I think it's great value. Reasonably sized room compared to other places in Japan, fully equipped and very clean. Hotel it is a bit old though.

The size is a lot more than our other Tokyo hotel (a shoebox). Yes the comments are right it is a bit old but some of the older quirks are nice like the outdoor seating and the classical music which help it reach more a European oasis feel from the heat than it may be without. Nearly a four but...

I booked 2 non-smoking,double bed rooms and we stayed in this hotel from 18 Apr to 24 Apr 2016. We were quite happy with size and cleanness of rooms. full toiletries and rooms were cleaned every day. Air- conditioning, WiFi all working well.

Stayed for 6 nights, and not hoping too much as I know how most of the house/ apartments/ hotels at Japan will be (can say small). Our room located at 4th floor, twin-bedded room and it was pleasant stay with clean and strong wifi connection. The bathroom is kind of cute :) but small and just nice for one person...

Cons: Our room was so tiny we didn't have much room for our luggage or to move around freely, the air con was weak, the window was locked shut, the fridge didn't cool our milk so it went off, there was only 1 plug socket for a two bed room, the internet was very weak, the bedsheets were poor quality....

If I could I'd award this hotel 3 and a half stars. The room was very small with no wardrobe or space to unpack anything and some of the wallpaper was peeling off. Attempts to stick it back on had left unsightly stains which was a shame. Having said that we paid a very reasonable rate through Travel Republic. There...

Having read some scary reviews here, I was a bit nervous about what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised, not to mention relieved, when I checked in to the Princess Garden for a week-long stay. It's true that the furniture in the rooms (or in my room at least) was a bit tired but everything did what it was...

Just a shortl walk from Meguro station and easy access to Haneda Airport, The Princess Garden offers great value as a hotel. The rooms were clean and reasonably spacious although the walk/hop-in bathroom still needs to be carefully negotiated. The staff are helpful and despite advising only wifi was available in the reception area, there is wifi in the rooms....

Location is good as accessibility to all rail lines is just 5 minutes away. To get to this hotel from Haneda Airport just take the Keikyu line to Shinagawa then change to Yamanote line to Meguro. Take the west exit, turn right and walk 100m. Overall our rooms were quite decent. The only drawback were the old hard beds. Booked...

Staying in Shinagawa / Gotanda

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinagawa / Gotanda
In Shinagawa, an office district shares space with luxury residential buildings and the scene is constantly changing with rapid development. Ikedayama park and Togoshi park are great places to see beautiful traditional Japanese gardens with ponds, as well as enjoy the changing seasons. Shinagawa was a post and a port town during the Edo era and the lavish old Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples at Shinagawa and Ebara are very popular. It's a great place to get in touch with the old Edo atmosphere on a pleasure boat cruising along the canal. The neighboring area around Gotanda station is a study in modern contrasts filled with unique restaurants and a lively nightlife.
