A short chartered flight away from Moremi Crossing was Lebala Camp. The cabins were out of the world - spacious, comfortable, with outdoor, under the sky showers, and the staff took care of us splendidly. The jeeps were not crowded, in fact, almost for all the safaris except for one, we were the only ones in the jeep. The guides...

This was our second camp on our first safari ever. We loved the authentic, rustic feel of the Kwando safari camps with just the right touch of eco-luxury. the trip really far surpassed our expectations. We were the only guests at camp for our 3 nights at Lebala and they treated us very well - it was a lovely time!...

It may be that our luxury experiences at the Ker and Downey camps of Kanana and Shinde coloured my judgement, but I think I can truthfully say that this camp has gone downhill since our visit there four years ago. The staff were not as efficient as before and there were not as many staff as last time. Our tent...

Lebala was just perfect for us. Just the sort of safari camp we like. Very comfortable beds and very spacious accommodation. We particularly like the fact that all the guests eat together round one large table. Kwando have a policy of no more than 6 guests per safari vehicle. Other camps might take 9. We saw fantastic numbers of elephants...

We had Ismail as our guide, young and very competent. By request our tracker was our old friend Moeti, who has the eyes of a hawk. Despite a lot of rain we had some outstanding sightings, including a pride of lions on an eland bull kill one afternoon and the kill being cleaned up by hyenas the following morning. We...

Arrived at the third of our three camp trip in Botswana and despite being in the country before ( a few times ) we had unfortunately not discovered Lebal before now. Lovely welcome and as usual I am amazed at how these camps are set up in the middle of nowhere. Cabin/Room was as expected with all needed facilities and...

We had been following a pride of lions off and on for a couple days (they sleep a lot) and one evening when the females and cubs went off hunting, the two mature males refused to go and wanted to sleep. We followed the hunters and cubs as they chased zebras until it got too dark. The next morning we...

Even though the camps are fairly close, they are different in character. Labala has no river nearby and the cabins are set slightly more apart so that there is a bit more privacy. However, the schedule for the day is the same, the food is wonderful with plenty of options and the staff works hard and is always pleasant to...

This was the 3rd lodge out of 3 we stayed in. We chose this one to get the experience of an area that has flood water. The accommodation was enormous and luxurious with a game viewing hide overlooking the water hole just outside. Elephant and giraffe and many other animals wonder around the camp. The food and staff were outstanding,...

Our first safari experience and Lebala will be very hard to beat. Loved the fact that the camp is a private concession so no more than 3 or 4 vehicles out at any time. On arrival, we were greeted with some chicken wraps. Informed the team that our daughter was vegetarian and 20 mins later some freshly cooked vegetarian wraps...

'Intimate' and 'personal' are core Kwando Safaris values. The vast wilderness areas in which our camps are located are known for their remoteness and high quality wilderness experience. With the intoxicating sunsets, tranquillity and endless horizons, most people are reluctant to leave! In order for a camp to be included in the Kwando Safaris circuit, it must have the following characteristics: • Intimate and personal - no more than 18 guests per camp • Allow the sounds of nature to dominate • Be managed by experienced and talented citizens of Botswana with motivated and caring staff • Embody the unique Kwando 'Guide and Tracker experience' • Be staffed with guides with the experience and personalities to ensure that no activity is dull! • Limit each game drive vehicle to a maximum of six guests • Have structures that are semi permanent ensuring minimal impact on the environment • Demonstrate environmental best practices in daily operations including the use of renewable energy sources ... more   less
