We stayed as a family with two teenagers for six nights.
The hotel is approximately 30 mins from the airport and cost around 35euro to get there. For your return journey you need to go to the reception the day before to order a taxi to the airport as taxis are not readily available in Cala Vadella. There is a bus service that runs hourly in to San Josep until around 2020, you do though need a mask to go on the bus.
We had a. two bedroom apartment, it was bright, clean and spacious, had everything we needed in it and was cleaned everyday. There were also two bathrooms as well which was a bonus, The beds could have done with some better pillows but other than that it was absolutely perfect. It had excellent air conditioning.
The hotel has a small well stocked supermarket. You might struggle to cook a full meal if you wanted to , but if you are happy with baguettes, pasta etc then its fine for that. There is another supermarket the other end of the beach that had a really good bakery but in terms of other goods the one at the hotel is better. It also stocks inflatables etc for the kids and big kids!
Pool was clean, warm and plenty big enough, there is a small baby pool also
The resort is a few steps from a very beautiful beach. There are loungers available but at 10 euro a day as a family of four we did not use these, the beach does get busy but not horribly so. You could rent out boats, jet skis etc we went on a paddle board which was 20euro for an hour and then a kayak which was 15 euro for an hour, which I thought was reasonable. There are some nice caves etc and good snorkelling if that is your thing.
There are a number of nice restaurants around the resort, you could get a decadent evening meal for around 15 euro per person (without drinks) (less at lunchtime)
The restaurant at the resort was lovely and good value for money (Thai was delicious ) but there were other options other than Thai - we had some great meals there. Breakfast was OK , usual sort of stuff pastries, bacon, egg, etc . My only criticism on the food front was there isn't much of a kids menu at the hotel (only one or two items) so if I was family with younger children it would put me off eating there in the evenings.
The resort itself is lovely, quiet, clean and stunning and I felt very safe there.
Just a couple of bits of information that may help others - Taxis are scarce, you need to pre book. There is no pharmacy in the resort - the nearest one is in San Josep, so make sure you have all the basics with you that you need. If you are a smoker there is no tobacco shops (again it's in San Josep) so better to get before you go from the airport or a tabac on route .
I would 1000% go again and generally speaking I don't go back to the same place twice.
The hotel is a little gem, in a prime position, with lovely friendly staff so if you are hesitating to book, don't , you won't regret it

This is a very small but beautiful and quaint resort. A lovely location with the hotel 50m from the beach. Unfortunately the season had not quite started when we arrived and was just beginning to open up towards the end of our week for example the only supermarket was very basic. We found this amusing, not a problem. Hotel had small shop.

Travelled with family so required 2rooms. Newly refurbished room was lovely with high spec fittings and very comfortable sofa beds and good self catering facilities. Unfurnished room adequate and clean. We thought the hotel had a very nice layout and lovely pool. Sun beds are good quality. The staff were very nice and helpful especially
Pedro and Jose in the bar. There is free Wi Fi, but reception is so bad that it is very hard to access it.

Perfect location! We’re a family of 5 with another couple and the location is perfect in a quaint village in a beautiful bay. Great restaurants around and the Thai restaurant at the hotel is super! We go between the pool, beach and bar all day and couldn’t wish for more! The staff are very friendly, the place is very modern and clean and the views are out of this world! Highly recommend

This week (23 April) it is very noisy because the are building a road. All day very loud drill sound in the rooms and at the pool. The are working near the pool and busy with concrete drills. You can’t speak or sleep because the heavy sound. Book a Mountain View room so you have some rest. No pool or sea view this week. Hope the road will be ready soon so you can relax your stay. The hotel is very good

I spent only 1 night at Cala Valadella Resort in Ibiza, this August, but I would strongly advise you not to chose this hotel for your Ibiza retreat.
Why? Easy! Cause I had a nightmare experience there.
- First, no road signs will guide you to the hotel, making your way to the place a tricky puzzle. In fact the Resort is settled on the highest part of a hill surrounding Cala Vadella Bay. Among the several pathway running from the lower village, only one is the right one. You'll spend at least 1 hour - if you're not a lucky chap - trying to drive all the paths up the hill, until you'll meet a native ready to help you out.
- Second, despite a quite pleasant reception area and a nice garden surrounding the main building (which only accomodate the main reception and the breakfast room) rooms are really crappy and filthy. In fact, rooms are accomodate in separate buildings, all spread in the garden, and they look like small towers. And while the external look is quite good (recently painted), one soon discover that the interiors' last maintenance must have been done like 10 years ago! Not only the hallway leading to the rooms is dirty and spoled, but even the rooms show signes of the time. Tiles are broken, dust is everywhere, the bathroom is a real nightmare, cupboard are wreak.
- Third, the director (a woman) is really unfriendly, not even helpfull and a tad sassy. When I discovered the wc wasn't working at all, I immediately reported the malfunction and asked for the problem to be fixed asap. As the toilet was unfixable that day, I quitely asked for another room. The Lady refused to change the room, pretending that the Hotel was fully booked. And while we asked for a price redunction, she just started to laugh and said it was impossible.
We spent the 24 hours in Ibiza without a proper toilet and shower and have been forced to use those of bars and restaurants.
Appalling!

So, I say with all my forces: Cala Vadella Resort is a no-no!

Ps: no credit cards are accepted! they only accept cash and - quite astutely - they often ask for an advanced payment at check-in!

The location is terrific, beach is fantastic and sunsets amazing. We paid extra for a superior room with a balcony facing the sea or the pool. When we arrived late on Saturday however, the allocated room didn't have a balcony & faced the rear of the hotel. When we tried to complain, the receptionist tried to convince us that the booking was not correct even though it was clearly stated on the acknowledgment. Parking can be very challenging when the locals come out, so don't expect to be able to park anywhere near the hotel. In summary, the resort & Island are fantastic, hotel is good, but don't expect to get what you pay extra for (in the UK, this is called misrepresentation!)

We had some issues with our accommodation and even though we didn’t stay there, the receptionist helped us with car hire, bus timetables, water taxi schedules, taxi phone number and general tourist information on the whole area.

She was amazing and super-helpful and we managed to get on our feet after a very strange experience we had checking into our nearby accommodation earlier.

The €14 all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet is brilliant value.

We had such a lovely time here, we normally go for 4 star plus but opted for this hotel given the location and we weren’t disappointed at all in fact we were pleasantly surprised!

We were delayed so arrived 3 hours late in the evening and not happy....so to be greeted by Juan on the reception desk and Pedro in the bar with a big smile and welcome we felt much better!

We opted for a superior room with sea view and it was spotless plus cleaned daily. Breakfast was good and the 2 evening meals we had were really reasonable and tasty, in fact we can’t fault this lovely place and have just booked to go back again in September.. would thoroughly recommend!!

We stayed here at the end of the 2017 season, and we had such a lovely time we did not want to leave! We were upgraded for free to the Comfort apartments and we were so grateful because they are very nice. The balcony had a great sea view, the kitchen was well equipped and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and modern too. We enjoyed using the pool, the food in the bar is tasty and the staff are friendly and helpful. It's just a short walk to the beach and good beach bars and restaurants.

I stayed here in May 2017 as part of a group that had come for the Funkademia de la sol music event and I can't fault the hotel at all.

The staff in particular made my stay a memorable one, they're so friendly that you actually feel like part of the family from day one.

Cala Vadella is a great, off the beaten track resort and if you're there, you should definitely stay at this hotel
