My wife and I stayed here just before Christmas and I have to say the whole experience was a joy from start to finish. Checking in was minimal fuss as almost everything had been organised digitally prior to arrival to minimise contact. The staff were amongst the best trained we have experienced in years, compliance with Covid regulations was universal and there was a very friendly atmosphere when dealing with any staff. We ate in the hotel 7 times during our stay incliding breakfasts lunch and dinners from a pizza to dinner in West Restaurant. The variety and quality of the food was second to none. The breakfast is worth a trip alone and the food in West Restaurant particularly was one of the best dinners we have eaten in Ireland. We are already planning our next trip to The Twelve and have recommended to many friends and family already.

Hotel's Favourite
We spent 4 nights in a luxury suite in The Twelve in Bearna during what can only be described as the strangest of times. We booked this hotel as due to Covid 19 restrictions we wanted a place that offered a few different options for dining as we were anxious to limit the places we had to go to for food or drink. We hit the jackpot with The Twelve they offer casual dining, pizza menu, bar food and fine dining so we were spoiled for choice. We ate and drank in the bar most evenings but we had the most amazing Taster menu one evening in The West restaurant where we were entertained and looked after by Fergal who's knowledge of wine was exceptional and he took his time to get to know what we liked while choosing our wines for each course. The food was amazing and as a non fish eater I can tell you I ate langoustine, Oysters, Herring and not to mention sea weed and every single course was perfect. Our room was beautiful and had a bar which we actually loved as during these times we couldn't go to a pub and sit at a bar so we settled in each evening and played records on the record player provided and reminisced about "normal times" This lovely hotel has very friendly staff, quirky little touches and decor and also is a dog friendly hotel. We would highly recommend it and we will be back again.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Good food and nice accomodation. Close to Galway city and to Connemara. Pet friendly which suits pet owners. Great choice of food on gastrobar and restaurant menus. However, breakfast menu was excellent with a wide selection of dishes, even including rabbit!!

This is our third year staying in the Twelve and it never disappoints! We love everything about it - the staff are always lovely and look after you so well, the rooms are so cosy and welcoming. The bathroom is especially gorgeous, with perfect lighting for taking a seaweed bath in your very own room! But the one thing in particular that keeps bringing us back is the amazing food! Every meal of the day is delicious - if breakfast and lunch in the Pins Gastro Bar (and the in house pizzeria!) wasn’t tasty enough, dinner in The West restaurant is an experience you can’t miss. We look forward to it every year. The whole meal is incredible - shout out to the the rabbit starter which is honestly divine and the wine menu! We were blown away by our meal the first time and every time since. There are so many extra touches included during your stay at the Twelve that really add up to give you a wonderful getaway. We can’t wait for next year!

Firstly the reason we picked The Twelve, was that we could bring our mid sized labradoodle with us, but that is not the only reason that we will return to The Twelve again & again. We ate in the hotel restaurants all four nights that we spent in Barna. Twice in the West restaurant & twice in the Pins Gastrobar. The food is excellent! West restaurant takes bookings. To eat in the Pins Gastrobar you give your name to the manager & then have a choice of returning to your room to wait on a table, or waiting in the designated area of the bar. There are some tables in the Gastrobar available for those wishing to have their dog with them. A doggie menu is also available, but we didn’t use it as our dog doesn’t eat very much, and is happy to just sit at our feet, and enjoy looking around! Staff in the Twelve are just the best! Nothing is too much trouble for them. We never had to ask for water for the dog, or indeed for attention, as they were always on hand to look after us! We stayed in a spacious luxury pet friendly suite, where a Christmas stocking, welcome pack was waiting for Elabella, contains doggie treats, dog bags, and recommendations for easy nearby walks that all of us could enjoy! The Twelve is just over 2 hours drive from Dublin, and free safe parking is available in the hotel car park. The hotel also has a bakery where take away treats can be purchased to take on yours walks! There are also a stone baked pizzas, for take away or to eat in the bar! There is also a Spa in the hotel, but we didn’t try it this time. When we return we have the West restaurant first in our minds for the fabulous Cote de Boeuf served on a wooden platter! And then there is the signature Cocktails available in the hotel, or by delivery to your home address! We are looking forward to the welcome we received from the reception staff when we return!
