Lovely large room and bathroom with great views across the countryside. It was great to have a separate lounge to sit/read in the evenings when it went cool outside. We spend lots of time birdwatching so we had cups, spoons and pouches of coffee with us. This was useful as we could boil a kettle in the breakfast room and take out drink into the lounge.It's a bit far to travel into Merola if you just want a hot drink and of course being a B and B there's nothing here for the evening drink.The breakfast was all- you-can -eat, just help yourself. Cereal, cheeses, meats, bread, fruit, yogurt, home made cake plus tea/coffee and fruit juice. On opening the patio doors in the morning we heard golden orioles singing, a lovely flutey song! The only slight problem we had one day our car broke down and we couldn't converse with the staff as they only speak Portugese, luckily another guest helped us out. Lovely place and nice people! We felt very welcomed by the hosts. The bedroom was really nice, big, super clean, as well as the bathroom. The outdoors area is beautiful, with a nice swimming pool. The breakfast was delicious was amazing local products, like bread, jams, fresh fruit.
Probably the cleanest room I have ever slept in. The fluffiest towels. Unbelievable breakfast with loads of fresh local produce and homebaked bread and cakes/tartes. Wunderwul swimming saltwater swimming pool. Service with heart. We were made comfortable in every sense, Our clothes were washed and ironed for free. Lots of love in the management of the place. The rooms are fairly new and perfectly kept. Unfortunately the backside of the building is not in the best shape/well decorated but the atmosphere is truly rural. Follow the advices on where to eat out and you will not be disappointed. Be prepared for loads of meet (any style) and VERY generous portions at very low prices in a simple but traditional portuguese restaurant.
