A welcoming and comfortable bed and breakfast. What was particularly nice was the friendly staff who were very accommodating. The quality of the restaurant food was also a nice surprise. My experiences of B&B's with restaurants, to this point have been pretty dire but this seems to have bucked the trend by offering a confident and well executed menu. I'm... More

From Australia and travelled around UK for a month. Our first stop in Scotland was at the Craigie. Loved every minute of the stay. Staff where amazing. Gave us great direction, tourist tips and friendly advice. Room was superb, food was amazing and cant praise the staff enough from receptionist, head waitress and bar staff to cleaners. Will be recommending... More

I've stayed at the Craigie a few times in recent years and each time noticed a gradual deterioration in the standard of furnishings etc. That's not so bad, except that the prices seem to show a marked increase over the same period and have now reached the level where the tiredness of the accommodation can't be excused. The staff vary... More

This was a one night stop off, and I had my fears from recent reviews. How wrong can one be! We got room 5, one to avoid according to one review. There was absolutely nothing wrong with it. The beds were comfy, and the FREE wifi perfect. We were going to eat out, but saw the special - rib eye... More

The hotel is tired. There was a birthday celebration in the hotel hall which went on till 2 am with guests smoking and being noisy right under our room's window, despite repeated requests to hotel staff to ask the guests not to disturb the resident guests nothing was done to address the problem. The breakfast was served very slowly. The... More

We stayed at The Craigiebield House Hotel for a function on a Saturday night in August. The bar area was very busy when we arrived in the afternoon. Obviously a very popular place with the locals. The room was basic but clean. The double bed was actually two single pushed together with an uncomfortable seam down the middle. The bottom... More

Make no mistake - this is not an idyllic country house hotel full of character and old fashioned service, but rather a pub with rooms, with room extensions not in keeping with the period of the original house - and with a below par level of respect for the guests. It was a huge disappointment, mainly due to the level... More

Our wedding reception was hosted at the Craigiebield, and from the day we booked Kirsten and the rest of the team couldn't do enough to make it a perfect day - even managing to squeeze in the groom and best man in the night before the wedding at the last minute when their planned accommodation was unexpectedly cancelled! (also making... More

We arrived at 2.00pm (checking in time) and were told the room was not ready for another 20mins. we would be told when it would be ready so we got a drink and waited.... and waited and waited. At 3.00pm we inquired if it was ready as we had been travelling for 5hrs. The message had not been passed on!... More

This was our second time at Craigiebield House. We were there two years ago as we visited the Edinburgh Tattoo and as we decided to return to Scotland this year, it was clear where we were going to stay. We spent our first two and our last two nights in Scotland at the Hotel - it was exactly as we... More
